Mopar Gas and Brake Pedals

Got rid of those plain old rubber pedals and replaced with the Moar stainless ones. I read on ton of posts especially on how difficult the brake pedal is. Thought I would share my experience as someone may find it helpful. The instructions from Mopar where to be honest not very helpful at all.

I did the gas pedal first. This is a simple overlay over top of the existing rubber pedal. Has clips and just snaps in. Took less than 5 minutes.

After struggling with brake petal and enduring multiple cuts to my right hand I started searching the internet for help. There are lots of posts on this. Some folks decide to cut some additional slots in the back of the petal which I didn't want to do. Others say use hot tap water which I tried and still really struggled. In the end what worked for me was near boiling water, removing from the stove and letting it soak for about 5-7 mins. After that the rubber became very pliable and while starting on the left and working toward the gas pedal I was done in 5 mins. My new motto for the brake pedal is "don't struggle and bring it to a boil". You may thank me latter! Building Gas Wood Hardwood Bumper

The supplier for the pedals ships them all to Brampton in the plain rubber since with the base cars, that's all you get. This causes a dilemma when the upper scale cars are promised the bright pedals so the solution FCA came up with is this box of pedal covers for the dealer to install and we know how well that works out. If FCA would just put bright pedals on everything they would arrive at Brampton already done, this is how the 6-speed Challengers are, all M6 cars have the bright pedals leaving Brampton.

I have those brake and gas pedal covers also. On my 2017 SP the dead pedal seems more narrow than it was in my 2013 RT. It's not comfortable to rest my foot there. Is there a matching overlay for the narrow dead pedal that is wider and won't "tip over" or get in the way?

I still can not find the right brake pedal cover for my 06 300 SRT8, I have the Gas,ebrake, dead pedals but the brake pedal cover is never the right one, everyone keeps saying the brake pedals are different on the models with adjustable pedal clusters, which mine has. I have a brand new brake pedal cover is anyone is interested ?? and if anyone can help point me in the right direction of the correct brake pedal cover, that would be tits.
