Scat is Gone, you all lost your bets this time!

Well it was a sad day, sold the scat pack. I got a good offer for it and a much better deal on a new purchase coming soon.. unfortunately it's not a scat pack.

Very long story short through work they offered me a car at a substantial discount as they buy in fleet... that's the good news, the bad news is they obviously aren't buying a fleet of scat packs LOL....

I will still be in the family though as they should have me a 2021 Durango RT... My first dodge in 2014 or 15 was a durango rt and it was a great vehicle... Will I, do I, miss having the scat pack.. yes... but this year funds aren't as free flowing so I figured I'd give it a shot and I had 1 day to decide. They got me 40k for my scat with 30,000 miles.... Paid 46.5 for it. Trades were offering me low to mid 30's. had to make a decision that day. Right now I'm in a loaner 2020 Jeep GC which is terrible (to me), it's nice and all but its not something I would ever buy or lease LOL.

That being said, they asked me if I can stomach a 2021 Durango RT with blacktop and leather so I figured why not. I can always sell it or trade it if I can't take it but at least I'll be in a hemi 350.....

Yea I know, you all bet wrong... not even I could have predicted this. I won't miss you all as I'm not going anywhere as far as this forum (assuming I'm allowed here still without a scat) and I love my charger/challenger fam here.

now onto my next question..... since I'll own this car, I can do what I want... can I put bullets or vibrants under there to at least give me something? any suggestions are certainly welcome and the 2021 has an entire new interior that looks really nice including wireless charging and wireless car play so at least there are some exciting aspects I guess.... because I really don't like trucks of any kind and yes I already miss ole big blue...

And, if I really get itchy, I'm not committed in any way, I can walk into dodge tomorrow and grab a scat (and if that happens it will be a WB Charger Scat). as cool as the challenger looks, the charger definitely was different... it was more comfortable, faster, louder and handled better.... no one can tell me otherwise as I had 3 chargers (plus my son's current charger) and a WB challey...

I guess that could be the next bet for you all.... will I make it to the durango or will I come home one day with a charger... the Durango's should be here around the end of the year... but if there is even a hint of a problem, I know my plan B, just not sure what color LOL.

Ok... let me have it now but go easy on me... all kidding aside the amount of savings is substantial and these days it does factor in. I lost $6,500 on the scat in one year and in previous times that didn't bother me but on the Rango I should get it cheap enough that after a year I'll be about even... so if I can drive a rango for a year for almost nothing compared to a loss of 6-7k a year... it was hard to say no....

Don’t worry, Joey.... you’re a staple on this forum. You did what you had to do during this rough economy. What color is the Durango if I missed it?
As far as delete, the Vibrants may be the way to go with the 5.7L. I’m still on the fence on either the Dynomax and the Vibrants. My blue has the delete and even though it sounds good, I’m seriously considering swapping for either/ or. Kitty sounds good as is to me. No exhaust mods for it at the moment.

This pandemic has got most people reevaluating their expenses man. Whether it's refinancing down or downgrading altogether. Not once will you hear me say a damn thing about selling your scat, because you're doing whats best for you and yours. **** is real out here man, and you're better off doing whats best versus being on some macho **** trying to appease the forum comment section. #RESPECT

You could have at least asked for an SRT Durango haha.

They make super chargers and all sorts of parts for the 5.7. I keep contemplating ditching the charger and getting one because it would fit the family easier. Then I remember I have sds and can’t have such a tiny engine haha.

Sad day indeed, but a 5.7 Durango is a nice ride that will sound good too with the Vibrants. At least you got some storage and space again!

    Oh God...........
The Durango is heavy, you will miss the extra power.
But yeah trade or used prices are insane now. I was offered 21 for my car. I paid 24 3 years ago.

Thanks for the kind words. my choice was grey or white with red leather but I couldn't get clarification on if it was destroyer grey or billet or granite so to avoid confusion, I got the white.... same white knuckle as my beloved 18 daytona! I looked at the exhaust and it looks complicated with some weird double looking muffler.. hopefully they can rip it out and put the vibrants in or bullets... nice on the kitty

Thanks... we'll definitely be alright but it was such a good deal I figured why not.. after all it was my 15 Durango that first got me to fall in love with dodge and their products... so full circle for now

I almost fell off the wagon today... a good friend has a 19 Challey Cat also white with red leather... listen to this story... he leased it at a good price I think 780/month and it's nice... but today he said he put on lease swap to get rid of it and they denied him and said any vehicle leased through Chrysler cannot be swapped... so what does he do, he calls me and says take the cat and you can have it for 700/month... while that was tempting I drive 30k/year and the overage charge on the cat is $1.00/mile so I laughed, and thanked him, but declined... I told him find out the payoff and maybe I'll just buy it from you, but it came back at $71,000!!!! that doesn't really help lol... if it was 60k or below I might have taken it but not 71k with mileage LOL....

yea... but the SRT and Cat durangos are really expensive..... even with the fleet discount... they did order a few TRX hellcats and one Durango hellcat but I don't think I can get my hands on those bad boys or I would have believe me...

Save your dough for a year and then get a 2022 wb Charger SP and enjoy 'Rango in the meantime!
