Hey all,I'm moving over to the dodge world here within the next few weeks. I have a few I'm checking out a 2017 green daytona 392, and a yellow 2017 scat pack pretty well loaded. The green one is pretty straight forward. Love it, but price is a little high and not sold on the daytona package. But really interested in the Yellow one for the price. Really well optioned, and it's Dodge CPO with only 19k miles for a hell of a price.Anyone else use dodge's CPO and have any opinions on it? I know many times it's up to the dealer but is it worth the effort to find one that is? Many times they will try to weasel out of every little thing (Currently dealing with this now with ford).

They are asking 34k for it. 19k miles. I'm not super familiar with the actual package names for dodge, but Sunroof, alcantara, assistance package(adaptive cruise etc). Beats audio. Additional Options:GPS Navigation Beats Audio Group Driver Confidence Group Quick Order Package 21W R/T Scat Pack Technology Group (From dealer page)

Well if it's certified, it has a warranty, which is great.

Like previous post, we would need to know details like price and specs to see if it's a great deal. You have apps that can run the vin and tell you if it's a good deal as well.

Just posted the options they have listed on the dealers page. (Not super familiar with dodge's packages. Can name all of fords by heart LOL). 34k is the price. 19k miles. Carfax shows tire replaced end of 2018

I say that's a decent price. I would offer $30k, and see if they would come down a little more.

It's not a bad price, but definitely would try to get it for atleast 30grand. If they dont want to wiggle then just tell them look it has 19k miles and even though its cpo ,it still has the previous drivers habits that have have been done. And you dont know if they treated it like it was a performance car or babied it.

I'll offer lower than 34k, but I'm going to get walked out in doing so lol. They just don't sell here for that price sadly. Even mustangs here suck to find used because they want to sell them at brand new pricing and refuse to move. Dealers sitting with scat packs on their lots for 7+ months because they refuse to budge on a 2 year old car with 30K miles for 39,000. Our biggest ford dealership has had a 16 scat pack on their lot for like 5 months with basically no options, 34k miles and priced at 41k.

What is the warranty situation through the dealer? I would take that into account when pricing this out. In my opinion, it just takes some dumb ass to test drive the car handful of times with 10 mi on the car to set it up for a potentially difficult future. These cars are built for performance, and most people who are buying these are driving them like they stole them.
Is it still under bumper to bumper?
If they won't move very far on the price, ask them to throw in an extended warranty, that should be good for a couple of grand, and barely cost the dealer anything.

If you're doing a trade, go to CarMax first and bring the pricing report with you when you go to buy the scat pack. try not to move off of the CarMax price, yes you get a tax benefit by trading it in and they'll always use that as leverage to meet the CarMax price, but that's another bargaining chip for you. If you want to go further, have them give you a best price on the car, then drop the trade on them, they'll evaluate it and lowball the hell out of you since they already gave you a good price on the scat pack, then drop the CarMax quote on them.

Haha I'm definitely not new to the dealership game. The car is certified (7 year/100k mile extended warranty). That's why I was asking other people's opinion on dodges CPO program. Some makes/dealerships seem to be much better than others. Some put in wording to wiggle out of every single thing. As far as my trade in I'm good there and know where I should be. Price in total I'm not SUPER worried about as long as it's not a pure ripoff, I won't even entertain it, but was merely curious about the extended warranty.

Leasing my hellcat rn. My payment went down over $200 over what I was paying on my purchased scat. And my buyout option after 36 months is only 42k. Only had to put 3k down. No brainer. Just have to wait till they do the incentivised leases 2-3 times a year.

TBH it's worth it to wait until you find one with the dynamics package, if you get a scat that is. Well worth the few extra coins it will cost you. The Daytonas come with that package basically standard (different wheels, but same size). You can find some good deals out there just gotta search. I've never had a dodge cop, just brand new. But I do know even if you dont get the cpo warranty you can call mopar vehicle protection and add the same warranty as long as it under 3 yr/36k. Dealers tend to try to overcharge for cpo's. So if you haggle down then that's good. If not, get the cheaper one, haggle that down more, and then add the warranty yourself. But you wont regret the choice. Had a scat before my cat and I still love that car. Always will.

There's a 17 daytona I've been looking at. And in a color I want. I believe 13k miles for 35k, but doesn't have CPO. My bank also does a warranty for up to 10 years and it's a good deal but figured if I could get it from the get-go why not?

Yes they do, if you plan on buying it at the end of the lease, I doesnt matter what you do to it. I leased my hellcat just for the low payment. I waited for an incentivised lease on hellcats. Put 3k down, my payment is only $570 after tax. Figured I couldnt beat that and I jumped on it. I fully plan on buying it at the end of the lease.

Depends on where you live for prices. My area...No way a used scat with under 15K miles will sell for $30K. Well above that here. About $35K is average.
CPO, is well, mostly a gimmick. You extend the powertrain only. And it's ON top the factory warranty. No bumper to bumper after 3/36. So you really only get 4 years more of powertrain only. Mines CPO, but I had no choice in the matter for the color. And if you want to mod...you can count on that extra warranty being in jeopardy. Tune may void, engine mods may void.

Yea, I hear you. Here the only thing coming close to 30 is a 16 with 50k. Many are midhigh 30s or 40s used.

I just walked out of my bank. Approved for 3.9%apr to a 2017 and above. Which is best in the area for more than 1 year used. They advertise 5.2. So I guess the search truly begins!

This is how naive/unintelligent I was when I bought my SP, I thought the SRT was the top of the line and didn't even know the Hellcat existed. I bought the MOPAR top of the line warranty that covers bumper-to-bumper, wheels, glass, etc... I didn't even care as long as my payment was between 600-700 a month, I even had financing arranged through USAA, but MOPAR got me in at a lower rate. I wouldn't even buy the SP I test drove, and told the dealership if the car had over 5 miles I wouldn't buy it, mine had 3 on the odometer when I picked it up. I refuse to buy a used car again, burn me once and all that.

my advice and this is coming from someone who never bought brand new cars. I like to buy 1-2 year old cars so other people "enjoy" depreciate which is the worst during first 2 years. But then I ran some numbers (my field is analytics and data) and I saw that I could get brand new 2019 charger with options I want for 42k with msrp 47k. If you do not care about options, you can get the stripper one for 35k.

Consider high performance aspect of this car as well - tires and brakes. On a used car, you will likely need to replace them.

Also I was surprised with Scat Pack depreciation - it is not that bad at all.

I actually may be going the new route. PenFed approved me today for a new loan at a better rate. I'm REALLY wanting Plum Crazy so I think I may go this route and order one as there's literally ONE even remotely close and it has 44k miles. As far as options, I don't really care as long as it has leather seats, I cannot stand the cloth seats.

was concerned about alcantara (and still is because now sure how dirty they will get and how much of a chore it would be to clean them up) but I love them! it is a great thing if you live in a place like Florida and wear shorts :)
