FIAT pays 77 million in penalties

Interesting article and 77 million is a lot scratch to pay in penalties. Just proves that Fiat wants to be in the muscle car biz, which is cool. Also Fiat has been lobbying the Trump administration to ease fuel economy regulations. Enjoy reading this after your 3rd cup of coffee. ha!FCA paid $77 million in fines, fell short of fuel-economy standards - Autoblog

People won't buy enough small cars and the manufacturers are stopping production of them. Looks like a no win situation.

Yea I saw this article too... good for FCA for paying the fine and producing what we (at least us people here) want! Keep fighting and making gas powered muscle cars please.I also saw another article in the same publication that FCA is considering making the chargers/challengers to be electric/battery powered in the coming years.... If they do that, they at lose me as a customer, I don't want a duracell powered "muscle" car, I want an IC monster hemi gas guzzling beast...

Thnx for posting that article....Very informative....Now I know why E. Musk at Tesla is doing so well...His company could be loosing money, yet showing a nice profit by selling the pollution credits he banked from years ago, to FCA..,, and others.
If FCA continues to produces Hemi V8's in near future ,,,,sorta think it will have to be alongside volume sales of 100% battery powered Fiat 500's.....which i haven't heard of....nor any other EV model coming from FCA...!

Has anybody seen the movie "The dilemma"? Its a comedy movie with Vince Vaughn, Kevin James. Their idea was to pitch an idea to dodge and convert the 2011 charger to an eco friendly car. It was actually more like an electric car.

Way to go FCA! All or most of us will continue to help you pay the fine(s) as long as you keep making V8 N/A RWD cars/suv's. I added Suv's cause my wife just got a Grand Cherokee V8 cause she loved driving my 300S V8 so much she wanted similar performance. Her GC actually performs slightly better than mine. Better enough not to have to hit the sport button every day like I do mine. I figured it out, it's cause her's has a higher final drive than mine (2.62 vs 3.23??)
