2014 Pursuit Auto-Stick not working

I bought a 2014 5.7 Pursuit RWD last August from NCHP with 102K miles on it. It now has 119K and has been one of the best cars I have ever had. I received all the maintenance records with it and have done all the items needed, including trans service, plugs, coolant change, front pads and rotors, and tires. I have just now noticed that the Auto-Stick function of the transmission is not working. I think I tried it when I first bought it, but can't remember. I was going to try running a tank of gas with the MDS off to see what the difference is. I currently get 22.5 to 24.5 on my daily commute. I searched this web site and others and haven't found anything to direct me on where to look for a remedy, other than the dealer.

I am going to contact the HP Garage and ask if they may have disconnected somehow, but other than that, can anyone suggest where I might look to get it working. I checked fuses and discovered a vacant 25A fuse position and replaced it, but nothing changed. There is also a 15A transmission fuse that is good. When I push the button on the end of the shift lever, the ECO light will go out for about a second, but no gear indicator comes up. I don't even know where the indicator is...

If anyone knows where I should start looking, please advise. Everything else works great on the car, so if I can't get it working without taking it to the dealer, I probably won't even worry about it. I took it to the drag strip once and right off the street it ran a 13.45 at 103, backed up by 13.63 at 101 with more wheel spin. I also have a Tazer installed since then and haven't tried it since installing. Might that be causing my problem? I took it out of the OBD port, but haven't tried unmarrying it.

Thanks for your time and assistance

When you push the button and toggle the up/down shift button, does it not change gears? If not, maybe a wire is broken somewhere or the switch is bad.

Thanks for the reply. When I push the button, if the ECO light is on, it blinks off for a second. If the ECO light is off, it blinks on for a second. It never gets to where I can toggle up or down. I don't even see the indicator lights come on.

I was able to investigate my problem a bit this morning and found the problem. The Tazer has an option to add Sport mode to the 5 speed and 8 speed transmissioned cars. When I turned on the Sport mode for the 5 speed, which my car has, the Auto-Stick function disappeared. I then added the Sport mode for the 8 speed, even though my car doesn't have an 8 speed, the Auto-Stick reappeared. I don't have any idea why this is, just that is the way it is. May just be a pursuit thing...

Hope this helps someone else, and thanks to everyone that took the time to view my problem.

I suspect that to avoid damage to the engine, say during a chase, the manual mode is deleted in the police package cars.
I recall looking at a 1956 Plymouth police package that had the powerflite transmission control lever in the dash. There was a rivet that prevented the lever from engaging the low gear position for that reason.
Just occurred to me, my 78 Plymouth Fury A38 police package had a chunk of metal bolted to the side of the transmission that blocked the shift lever from going into low. I removed it, coming down steep mountains was too hard on brakes.

Hi I got a 2014 5.7 pursuit rwd as well and I’m currently having the exact same problem. I got it with 70k miles got about 90 now and the auto stick worked but now the eco light flashes and doesn’t engage manual mode. Between the time it worked and when it stopped I added a tazer and did mess with the trans setting did setting both the sport mode for the 5 and 8 speed fix the the issue?

I will also mention the Tazer Manual also specifically states about this NOT to do it.

So running risk of messing things up just to have a little sportly flag.
