2014 Charger RT 5.7L 29,800 on Odometer. I was shifting gears the other day and the ABS and Stability warning lights came on. Pushing the dash button for the Stability doesn't turn it off. What do I look for? Bad sensor?
Stopped by my local mechanic's this AM, he wasn't able to pin point the problem. The commercial code readers don't seem to be very good with Chrysler software, Got a 8 Am appointment on Monday with the dealer. I hope they don't have to jack up the hubcaps and replace everything else.
Thanks, gonna take it to my mechanic tomorrow or Monday. He's pretty good, I'll have him check, dealer is the last resort. I doubt this would be covered under warranty.
I killed my battery last week, leaving the door ajar. Charged it, all good except the abs and stability light on also. drove around about 10 miles. it went off and been that way since. I don't think this helps you but those lights do crazy **** sometimes.
The owner's manual recommended driving over 38 mph for a while to see if the lights went out before contacting dealer. Dinna work. Thanks for commenting though. I manually shift the tranny because it has a habit of skipping a gear if I ease up on the throttle between shifts in Drive. The check engine light will either come on or sometimes the vehicle would temporarily go into Limp mode before correcting itself. I bumped the shift lever right for the 2-3 shift and that's when the ABS and Stability lights came on.
Late update. Took car to dealer. Problem diagnosed as a bad rear wheel anti-lock brake sensor. They nicked me $195 for labor and $34.51 for the part. Service rep then said it needed a rear differential service at $148.71 along with having the fuel injectors and throttle body cleaned at $172.95. They threw in a free 100 point safety inspection for free along with a free passenger side air bag sensor on recall. all told I left the dealership $564.78 poorer.
Damn, they got you with the classic "rear end service" and " throttle body clean". Probably didnt need them, but they dealer will gladly do them and take your money.
$172 for fuel injector cleaning that gets done every time you put gas in the car is NUTS.
All good gas has detergents and cleaners in it now. Paying someone else to put running alcohol through a little drip line into the intake is a HUGE waste of money!
