    Just waded through your misery today!
    It sucks pure and simple.
    Now almost all of my experience is with '60s and '70s cars.
    In my experience a wiped cam lobe ALWAYS means engine disassembly, thorough cleaning and inspection, replacement of rod and main bearings and oil pump.
    Possibly polishing crankshaft if it looks damaged.
    Engines haven't changed that much, I'd bite the bullet and pull it out now.
