Affordable solution for OEM HID headlights for Chargers!

Second post now updated with how-to info.

First off thanks to Porkchop for attempting this project along with me. I know a lot of the Charger crowd has been looking for an affordable way to have the OEM HID projector headlights. Well it seems it has been found!!! I have an 06 and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the wiring was changed in 08 (they first year they had HID headlights) so it's going to take a little bit of custom wiring for pre 08 Chargers but nothing too difficult. So far I've invested only about $270 (not including the HID kit I already owned) and I believe I have everything to make this happen. More to come soon.....

No.

First check to see if you have the 4 pin connector coming off your housing rather than two 9006 connectors just to confirm.

You need a hid kit to plug and play from your stock harness to the d2s bulbs. If you have two 9006 connectors just use an hid kit meant to connect to a 9006 harness but try to get d2s plugs instead, that or buy them seperate.

My bad. I need to think about what i write more. reasons why i failed English.

I meant the low beams. Are the lights a little better when you use a OE quality bulb like Phillips or slyvina? Or are the cheap Chinese ones the same quality.

No worries about the age thing. If i write like a 17 year old people will think that. talking is my strong suit :kinglock:

Sounds like you guys are on the right track. I think the 08+ non hid housings still use the 9006 harness rather than the 4pin. Let us know!!

So if you only have a 4 pin connector how are you going to connect that to a hid kit? Or do you connect it to the bulb connector itself and leave the cap off?

*have aftermarket hid's?

I'm using the d2s bulbs and they look AHmazing at night. I remember when you guys asked me if I had a 2008+ hid charger, I was like......".....yeeeeaaaahh?!!?????....."

No issues or leaks so far but it hasn't rained yet but like I said, eagle eyes are a decent brand for lights as I have had them before in my 97 tbird. I put BMW e46 projectors inside a new set of eagle eye headlights and never fogged up or anything.

Not sure about the ballasts but the 300 hid housing use a square 4 pin connector while the charher uses a rectangular one like in the op.

If you do the "notify me" button on the AM autoparts website they will send you an email when they are back in stock. I just ordered a set Monday because I got the email and ordered them right away. A guy who tried to order 10 minutes after me got an email saying his order was cancelled because they were out of stock, but mine has shipped. They only do 5 sets at a time and lots of people must be watching for them cause it only takes a few minutes for them to sell out. I missed out the previous two times.
