I just got back from the Dodge Dealer, I ordered a 2020 Challenger Hellcat Redeye in Triple Nickel. Now I have to try and sell my 2009 Challenger SRT stroked to a 426 with a 150 of shot nitrous. But I have a funny feeling my girlfriend might buy it. Which would be nice to keep it in the family. Now I wonder how many weeks, months until I see it. I'll have to find out how to track it. anic:
Congratulations! Your dealer or Dodge customer service can provide you with status code updates. Probabiy start getting built in few weeks. Once it's built the build sheet will show up but still has to go to Upfitter. Once it leaves Upfitter and is ready to ship the window sticker will show up. Give it a couple days then figure 100 miles per day average to your dealer. Good luck!
Here's what I ordered. A Challenger Redeye in Triple Nickel. The interior is Hellcat Logo Laguna Seats in Black and came with the Leather, Plus and Convenience Packages. Red Seat Belts, SRT Performance Spoiler and 3.09 Rear Axle Ratio. I didn't get the Sun Roof (too tall), Navigation (don't use in my truck) and Speaker System (I don't use it much in my other Challenger) And no, it's not a widebody. I think their kind of cool, but not for me.
So you kept the stock 2.62 rear end, great! There's a big debate going on about whether or not the 2.62 cars all get the Demon driveshaft so yours will be a key piece of the puzzle as the first 2020 to check.
Oh so your ordered the 3.09? OK dang, we'll have to find another car to check.
Yes, you will be getting the complete Demon package of the heavy duty driveshaft and 41-spline halfshafts and the special hardened Demon rear end case, all these the best factory parts used on a Hellcat.
I have also read that the HCRE has these upgrades over the HC, 41-spline half shafts (20 percent increase in torque capacity) drive shaft (15 percent increase in torque capacity) upgraded torque converter (18 percent increase in torque multiplication).
Oh OK. Yeah it's a debate, we'll just have to see how it shows up. I think you'll get the Demon driveshaft and without question you'll have the 41-spline halfshafts. Only thing is looks like the 2.62 does not get the Demon case but stock Hellcat case still plenty strong enough.
I'm retired and the days seemed to fly by before I ordered the Redeye. The last 7 days have felt like a month. Anybody know how long it takes to get a VIN number?
