I think 17". I just use steel spare wheels but need an aluminum wheel adapter to clear the brakes. There are other, more expensive options that don't require a spacer. I'll torque 10 more lug nuts to save 1000 bucks.

Just for the strip or daily driving?
Around town I use 18x5 racestars and the corresponding Mickey Thompson sportsman sr fronts. They handle beautifully on the street. The tires are not very light though at 25lbs a piece. They have actual tread so don’t drive through the water box at the strip.

At the strip, 17x4.5 racestars wrapped in m and h skinnies. Those tires are much lighter so you will shed more but the do not handle as well daily driving. Straight tread so you can drive through the water box.

the only issue with racestars is the stupid washer setup. And the ****ty lugnuts that warp. if you use racestars buy extra lugnuts from them , and go to home depot and buy standard washers the same size as the originals. Cuz thats what they sent me for washer spares.

The lugs are an issue. I still use their lugs but you have to visually inspect each to make sure the threads are centered in the lug. I usually have to buy 2 sets of 20 to find enough for the whole car. Extra money spent yes. I have had zero issues in 3 years with 2 cars being on racestars all around. Also pulling the fronts off every other week to put skinnies on.

As for street handling, it's more dependent on the tire than the wheel. Obviously a wider wheel will handle better but the tire is the main thing. If you go with an 18 inch wheel 4-5" wide, you can utilize the 28" MT sportsman sr tire. It handles beautiful on the street and has a max inflation of 95psi for our heavy cars. I run them on a 18x5 racestar on my daily driver charger. I haven't found a tire that works as well for a 17" wheel. Stuff that handles ok sure, but you have to alter the way you drive a bit. The sportsmans I drive like a normal setup.

I've been looking at both the Jms Avenger and Race Star Drag Stars for daily driving because I like the look and ride of 17 inch wheels. My concern with the JMS is they only offer a 4.5 inch front wheel which I was afraid was too narrow for street use. If the 18x5 Race Stars do fine on the street would the 17x4.5 Avengers? If so those are what I want
