Was getting a P0420, replaced post cat 02, nothing. Went to check primary 02 and dam near broke things getting it out. I am thinking this is the cause of my code, but really wth caused it to get dented AND threads seize? IMG_20190511_171328761 by Corey S, on Flickr IMG_20190511_182710288 by Corey S, on Flickr
Does the cat usually only fill half the space? And there is no gasket between header and mid pipe eh just a metal to metal.
The code is for the cat, and based on the pic down the pipe, I see why you have it. It's got nothing to do with the sensors, your cat is broken.
With it broken and having fallen down, it probably generated so much heat it welded the upper in the bung.
Material bouncing around in the pipe from it is probably what dented that sensor.
There IS a gasket between the mid and the exhaust manifold, it's probably still stuck to the manifold and looks like part of it.

I didn't think there was on on mine when I removed them, and I had less than 15k miles on mine.
It's not the fat donut we're used to seeing, it's just enough to seal it off when they're mated up and bolted together.
I think you're going to be about the same, cost- wise, replacing it or tuning it out.
If you break the material up and gut it, you'll have to put a non fouler in which might trick the computer long enough to pass inspection once it's readied up.
I'd hit the "Want to buy" section and see who has a set to sell you. You'll be better off that way with the cost and the threads will be better on the front one.
Went the "cheap" route, brother cleaned up the threads, got the big daddies angle and cel cat fix spacers. Gutted what was left of the cat, about a handfuls worth left  Deleted the code, checked for leaks, then the night time gym drive was canceled due to rain, maybe this weekend. Sounds nice though, has a little louder boom to it with the jba catback, barks pretty good too.
Just the driver side, want to make sure these adapters work before I screw myself over twice.
