Retain factory GPS antenna with aftermarket radio - 2006 Dodge Magnum

I have moved on from my factory REC nav unit and currently running a cheap android unit with a universal GPS antenna taped on the top of the dash. Needless to say it's just plain cheap looking and I wish it was out of sight. Over the years I've seen the question asked if the factory GPS antenna can be retained when using aftermarket head units and never came across a solution. Well, I decided to take another look into it and found out the factory GPS antenna has a GT5-1S connector. I found an adapter on ebay for 8 bucks and it works like a champ.

Hope this helps anyone looking to retain their factory GPS antenna.

Good for MyGig swap as well, since it used a different plug than the 05-07 factory antennas.
