REC Upgrade and Speaker wires 05 RT Guidance Requested

Folks

I have a healthy 2005 Magnum RT in Billet Metallic with the rec 6 speaker audio/nav that I purchased new and continue to enjoy. Overall I'm satisfied with the quaility of the audio having over time upgraded the Kicker amp, dash speakers and the rear 6x9's.

I want move to a newer touchscreen receiver with a round physical volume knob, CD, and wired Apple Car Play. I'm looking at the Jensen VX4024 which is reasonably priced. However, when installed I will lose the fader capability if I stay with the factory kicker amp.

I'm working on a tight budget, don't need Navigation, and don't want to spend more than $300.00 for the receiver. My quandary is between using the existing downstream Kicker Amp / speaker combo which I'm satisfied with, or replacing the amp and perhaps having to add component speakers.

My wiring question is:
Since the kicker amp is located under the front dash, can I access the existing 6 speaker wiring harness at the kicker amp location? It might simplify the installation of an aftermarket amp if I decide to eliminate the factory kicker amp.

Thanks to anyone that shares there ideas, recommendations and advice!

Tim,

The kicker amp is located to the left of the steering column, under the dash. It is strapped on to the tcm (they are sandwiched together).

Check Pac-Audio. They have adapters to add an amp and maintain things like steering wheel controls.

For example: RadioPRO4 Interface for select Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/RAM Vehicles - PAC

And...

CHRYSLER/ DODGE / JEEP AMP BYPASS (AI: CRH607) - PAC

You might also consider one of the newer Android head units. There is a really nice 9" model that a few members have installed, that is plug and play, fornthe Gen1 cars.

Crutchfield may also have a Metra bypass adapter, for the amp. This would help keep it plug and play.

Hope this helps.
