Have to start with my thanks and I'm confident I'll leave something important out before I've had my coffee...

Rebuild started with a holed motor at the big end of the Texas Mile a year ago. Tore up and oiled a lot of the car. Tough call at the time but decided to rebuild. I'd been at it since 2009 and thought that last one was the final iteration...guess not. After a lot of deliberation and conversations, A.J. and I agreed she should go to Hemituner Performance and we would build her the best we knew how. The theme: safety, longevity and serviceability.


The build:
406 C.I. aluminum block from Seidle Motorsports, Thitek heads, AGP turbo kit customized by A.J. and HellBent for my application, Rossler 4L80E, ProTorque converter, Driveshaft Shop 4" aluminum driveshaft, 9" and halfshafts, and the electrical....ripped out and made absolutely unbelievably neat and serviceable by A.J., and tuning by my tuner since 2010 A.J. "hemituner".

My oiled StopTech brakes from 2010 saved my bacon...I highly recommend them.

High capacity oil pan modification so I can change my oil this time with the diaper in less than 2-3 hours....lmao

The rear cradle was showing cracks from all the years of abuse to A.J. invested some TLC to make sure no drama arises from the quarter mile and standing mile beatings....

Previously my oversized radiator and other beefed up cooling was sitting to far back in the engine bay so belt serviceability was a bear at best. No longer...

Very impressive build Sam! AJ mentioned this build to me before CF and seeing pics really brings the enormity of the build into perspective. Congrats to you, AJ and the crew that pulled this beast together. Should be a fun year at the track :)

Sorry I missed you, Chris.

Making some minor changes...rear gear to trap a bit lower and help at the standing mile and suspension change. The coilovers have been in there since 2009. Time for a swap/upgrade.

The midplate is plenty based on another build of a good friend of mine's. The motor mounts are part of the turbo kit and have been replaced with a much harder polyurethane than the six-speed mounts I was running. Largely stock location, yes.

Took it down the track several times with four passes at ~150mph. In my estimation the torque loss is close to nil and there's a lot less fatigue on the motor mounting points. It's a good solution.

On to electrical. It's been a critical part of the car for a number years and reasons, not the least of which I tested all kinds of crap from WOT boxes when the car was a stick to a water/meth system I installed, Nitrogen Assisted Nitrous, aeroforce gauges back when they weren't working on LC's, trans and blower cooling switchery...blah blah blah. That crap adds up... Well, A.J. decided it was a bird's nest after some deliberation and did this....

my transmission controller used to sit over my fuel pressure regulator in the engine bay (WTF???) which made my accessing the FPR to adjust pressure at the rails a PITA and the programming cable ran through the fire wall. Now it's easy access for me playing with programming line pressure, etc... right under the pass seat

everything of any importance funnels through this little guy that sits in my glove compartment next to my AMS boost controller. 8 relays, fuses and LED's that fire when there's a problem. extremely serviceable...game changer

A.J. met me in Bowling Green for the first combined ChallengerFest (#7) and MSHS. Super cool. Got to visit with good friends from each of the events and that allowed for two track days.

Following are my last four passes in order. A.J. tweaked the tune a few times and kept it conservative. With each pass we raised the boost level a little as we grew more confident with the setup and I even hot lapped the car with zero cooling issues. Never left with more than 2psi of boost at the line. I'll play with that later to get the 60ft where it should be.

On this last pass we decide to see if we could find a 9.1 sec pass and raised the boost ramp rate aggressively. The tires broke at the 60ft or so and it made for a fun pass...

I've seen 11 second Mopar's go down the 1320 with a whole lot more drama. And to think, you built this as a mile car, not drag.

Rebuild started with a holed motor at the big end of the Texas Mile a year ago. Tore up and oiled a lot of the car. Tough call at the time but decided to rebuild. I'd been at it since 2009 and thought that last one was the final iteration...guess not. After a lot of deliberation and conversations, A.J. and I agreed she should go to Hemituner Performance and we would build her the best we knew how. The theme: safety, longevity and serviceability.


The build:
406 C.I. aluminum block from Seidle Motorsports, Thitek heads, AGP turbo kit customized by A.J. and HellBent for my application, Rossler 4L80E, ProTorque converter, Driveshaft Shop 4" aluminum driveshaft, 9" and halfshafts, and the electrical....ripped out and made absolutely unbelievably neat and serviceable by A.J., and tuning by my tuner since 2010 A.J. "hemituner".

The rear cradle was showing cracks from all the years of abuse to A.J. invested some TLC to make sure no drama arises from the quarter mile and standing mile beatings....

It's powdercoated a "silver". Was intended to be a machined aluminum type look. More like a light gray.
