I'm planning my winter build for the upcoming road lapping and racing season.

Right now, I have Pilot SS's all round 275/35/20 on the front and 285/35/20 on the back.

I want to go to the same size all round so i can cross rotate to even out negative camber inner wear.

Will 285/35/20's work on the front, as far as any clearance issues are concerned?

Would like to hear from anyone who has lapped or raced with 285's on the front.

I think a SRT8 will need a wheel spacer on front. I have to run 2 6mm spacers on my RT just to run 275's on front. They don't seem to cause a problem, however. I was a bit nervous when first using 2 spacers and kept checking torque, but they have never loosened. Maine roads are pretty torturous. I think 1 spacer might be all you need.

Was that on SRT rims?

The Pilot SS have a 300 tread count and that will kill your lap times. I would highly recommend running a set of 275/40/20 Nitto NT05 (200 Tread count) if you'd like to rotate and they are a lot cheaper than the Pilot's. I ran the 275/40/20 front and 315/35/20 rear on my stock wheels for a season in the NASA events (HPDE3 class). My challenger handled great with them. Little off topic but I hope this helps... :thumbs_u:

I am running 285's on the front of my MSRT8 and I had to use 1 spacer. I haven't raced them or anything, just daily driving and no issues. Hope this helps.

Yes it does. I don't want to run spacers on the track.

Thinking I'll go with 275's all round.

renman , I run SRT8 300 Alcoas. I would assume Factory Repros would be the same deal. Personally,I think they look wicked on a Magnum! And NR, I doubt that the slightly wider 285's would make much difference in traction, in fact after viewing your video's, your competition might complain, saying you had an unfair advantage!

LOL! - thanks for the props! I just came back from an organizational meeting for our Gentlemen's GT Series. It looks like we'll have over 30 competitiors this summer so we will have 3 classes - based on qualifying lap times.

And - there will be 9 events from May to September! All good! :)
