so he lets go of the steering wheel at the end and it looks like his arms are flailing about, was that for a reason or was he just being a girl?

I'm guessing he was blocking his face from the airbags and/or debris from the windsheild . When drifting goes wrong.......lol . He's no Ken Block .

Wow...I'm pretty sure that could've been avoided...

Oh no! Too much gas at exactly the wrong time...hit the grass & it's all done. One of our SRT Track Experience instructors was in almost the same wreck at the same turn in a BMW there a month or so ago. Glad he's okay.

OUCH! I'm glad (I hope) that both drivers are okay.

I also hope the cars are repairable. Not sure about Ryan's Subie, though, that looked like a nasty hit!

he let go of the steering wheel to keep from breaking his wrists I guess his body was not strong enough to keep his b-hole clinched and his arm still at the same time lol.

Guess the steering wheel's not much use when the brakes are locked and you're surfing grass...

Yea, when you are going to hit, get your hands off the wheel. Between the airbag and the impact energy it will f' your hands/wrist up pretty good.

And the dude in the GTR felt every bit of that hit, thats a bad way to smack a wall, you can here him grunt when it hits.

The grip really sucked this weekend I wasted a set of Hoosier R6s that were 75% or better to begin with.
I looked like i was puttiong on a drift exibition instead of a timetrial got beat by a tricked out Honda S2000 in my wifes stock SRT8

Nashy, both of them. I wrecked at Road Atlanta after hauling my Focus all the way down there for a lapping event. I was coming out of 4 in the esses heading towards 5. The car became unbalanced when I clipped the curb a bit hard my fault and around it went. Before I could catch it or really do anything I was off the track heading backwards into the concrete wall.

One Focus shell down the drain.

In the Rally Tall Pines the same year I got my pace notes confused and took a caution 3rd in flat 3rd. I had the time to pull the e break to slide the car but it still went off the road into the ditch and rolled once.

The first lesson I learned works most of the time which is both feet in.But when it's wet or your on grass your just along for the ride. AWD,FWD,RWD there isn't anything you can do.

You race and your going to crash. It's going to happen and if it doesn't your either really lucky or aren't pushing hard enough yet. Kinda like riding a bike, its going to happen your going to drop it.

Holy monkies that looks painful. My offs have always been with plenty of run off room. I have a real fear of balling up my car or myself which keeps me from going past 95% most track days. Gotta be a couple of cracked ribs in the GTR though. That looked nasty and fast.

I participate in every track event I can and it doesn't take much to loose a car when you are really going fast. I've done a 360 myself and all it took was getting a bit too much of the curb in an ess which caused the car to drift far enough to put a rear wheel into the dirt at 80 (which is not fast) If and when you over estimate the grip at 100 or over ..... it's over. If you put a camera on yourself at the track I can assure you you'll see things you never imagined you were doing. It's easy to opine from the bleachers, get on the road course at speed and you will find humility and respect for what it takes.

i'm sure he is more worried about his car than his health, dam shame to wreck your pride and joy like that.
It's all part of racing, the risks we take are just crazy, everyone thinks it won't happen to me till wham the car is recked.
I hope he can afford to repair it.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the Tea Party racing car went off track? :loser:
