7 spokes.......7.....only 7?!!! That's it, I'm out. Clearly our cars deserve 10 spokes. Is this just another example of Chrysler cutting corners and costs? These look like Chevy Tahoe wheels. Damnit, that's it I'm out!!! I'm never buying a Chrysler product again.

I love what I see... the wheels are a little boring but everything else looks refined yet still LEONIDUSuqe!!! What would really help sell this new SRT is a 6spd... at least a paddle shifted auto. Either way I still want one! lol

Pretty sure it's an 8speed auto w/paddle shifters...or something germanish like that.

smoove7410
03-21-2011, 12:46 PM
It is still a 5 spd at the moment. Future models will most likely eventually get the 8 spd.

I am sure those wheels are just for the mules.

I like the hint of chrome on the rear diffuser and I thought I read from Resume Speed that the 300C SRT8 would have a mesh grille of some kind. Knowing Chrysler I'll bet it is not the Dodge honeycomb grill, probably something more upscale befitting their flagship.

I would give that a very high probability. I'll write the deposit cheque now if the interior looks like the Lancia Thema.

Likes:
-The rear spoiler
-The rear diffuser
-Body-color lower door molding
-Deep-dish factory grill
-(hopefully) get rid of that chrome in the tail lights
-Replacement of the metal triangle on the rear side glass with glass
-The front air dam looks aggressive, with angled grill and fog surrounds
-Better windshield design, lost the black trim and narrowed the A-pillars
-More finished sill design with pronounced skirt details on the door and the sill
-Sleek body-color mirrors with integrated signal lights

Dislikes:
-18" 7-spoke rims
-Chrome B-pillars (one side?)
-Huge chrome upper window trim (on other side?)
-LED driving lights. OK, they DO look great, but those are for us gearheads to install, lol

I noticed that Fortuno didn't even smoke the tails on Fatchance2.0. I hope that is because he ran out of time, but the integral chrome in those lenses will be difficult to hide. But SONAR will be out with replacement tails in months, so there is hope :)

smoove7410
03-27-2011, 03:12 PM
^^Don't worry tork, I talked to the srt guys about the tails and a future chrome delete. ;) The limited does have less chrome in the lens.

So, here is my "forecast" folks.....the srt will feature the above headlamps and grill, rear spoiler I posted above, unique lower rear bumper with black diffuser and the Thema front bumper (below).

I would put money on your forecast Josh-

Now that I look at that rear spoiler and the rear of the Limited that you posted, I think the spoiler makes the back look too tall. They had to tack it on top because of the CHMSL but I think a horizontal extension (like what the current SRT has) with an integrated CHMSL would bring that height down visually.
hmmmmm.... an aftermarket possibility.

I wonder what tail light designs will show up and when. I would like to see these with the lights on, since I heard an interview about the LED stack in the center.

smoove7410
03-27-2011, 08:44 PM
^It actually was a C, but they swapped the limited lights on. I didn't get to see them on, so don't know of the led look, but in person, the car is nicer than in pics.

As for the wing, it looks a lot better in person. The pics make it look larger, but when seen on the whole car, it is very nice and subtle. Mopar will be stepping up the parts game folks....price and product. Here are two more pics. The third brake light needs to go period. If I do another 300, I will either paint over it or mold it in....if molded, the wing will also get molded.

It is a C done by mopar. I think some of the parts are srt and they were showing them off in a similar way they showed the srt steering wheel on the redline charger concept. The wing and grill looked too production ready imo to be one offs.

Honestly, this was the car that should have been revealed and put in the center....very clean. The 295's out back changed the look from the rear. It had this steering wheel, which I am hoping makes production.

http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5065/5564764893_d494fe05bf_b.jpg

Another 300 had this dash, same as the Thema. I am hoping, and certain, this will show up as a package in the future. Pair it with the above steering wheel, and I might have to bite, lol.

smoove7410
03-27-2011, 09:08 PM
^No problem. I am with you.....this is the only new 300 at the show that got my attention. Prior to the show, the new 300 looked like crap to me....it had lost its edge. After seeing them in person and the one I posted with the lip, I have a different outlook. If they offer a package that includes the wrapped dash and steering wheel paired with (HEY GUYS AT CHRYCO READING THIS) a chrome delete, I might have to bite. And by chrome delete, I mean body colored handles and window surround with brushed mirror caps, front bumper pieces, and rear bumper pieces (similar to the thema a la Audi S type).

Also, if you guys want someone to show you how to really do one of these up next year, and by that I mean one that will appeal to the high end Euro clients who can afford more, give me a pm. ;)

Thanks for the info!

Anyone have any pics of the big sunroof open? How far does it open?

smoove7410
03-27-2011, 10:22 PM
I don't have any pics, but did mess around with one. The sunshade does go all the way back to reveal the whole sunroof. Only the front portion of the sunroof slides back and overlaps the rear portion.

Thats gotta be the new SRT8 in disguise. I would say the rims, grille, rear spoiler and chrome delete for sure. SRT8 might add a more aggressive front fascia and a few other things (flat bottom wheel like the Charger SRT8 has w/ paddle shifters etc). The car is gorgeous either way....love it.

Anyone know what the make of rim is on that 300?

smoove7410
03-29-2011, 01:23 PM
^They are 22" Savini Monos ----- SM3. I am 99% sure you are looking at 22x9 front and 22x10 rears with 265/35 and 295/30 Pirelli tires.

http://saviniforged.com/prod_img/sm03.png

The only srt bits are the headlights, rear wing and grill. The front bumper is the Thema bumper. If you look at spy pics and the Thema side-by-side, you can see the exact same openings in the lower bumper.

Any hints at SF about putting in a 6 speed manual into the SRT8 Charger/300? This would give it street cred and shutup the people that say they won't buy it because it has a "slushbox"

Yeah, they pretty much said don't expect a manual tranny option anytime soon in the Charger/300 platform. Their "business models" don't support spending the money to R&D it and pass the safety inspections. Just like they said don't hold your breath waiting on the 8-speed auto in the SRT8.

dont know what R&D they would need cause the challenger is pretty much the same car, just a bit shorter and weigh about the same.

Pretty sure the reports were that the 8 speed would be introduced in the 300 SRT8 (2012 model this year) and the others would get it in 2012 (next year).

Floor pan is different between the two, otherwise the Chally would be a 4-door.
