My 07 5.7 has developed a noise I can only describe as a rattle that I only notice while at steady highway speeds. Sounds like the pinging noise you could get with bad gas , but just keeps pretty much steady not louder when accelerating. Also do not hear it at lower speeds around streets. Motor was replaced under warranty about 30k miles ago due to dropped valve seat, new engine not rebuild.
Cant hear anything while sitting even revving motor. Other than the noise motor is running fine, no codes.
The dust shields on the front brakes tend to rot away and then rattle. To check, turn wheels all the way to the outside and grab the dust shield and see if it rattles. Check other side the same way.
Also, the guts of a catalytic converter can rattle as well, but I've not heard of too many instances of that happening.
Make sure pipes are not hitting cross brace under car.
