Wanted to ask a question. I’m going over the finance on my scat with the finance guy. I got 1% below dealer invoice and the $4850 off for power dollars. After all that they are trying to add $4000 to the total price for tt&l. Pretty much putting me back at what I started before the incentive. I love in Oklahoma. The sales tax is extremely low here. Does this sound like I’m getting hammered a little? I need help please. I think the tax is more like $1300.

In Oklahoma, as I presume you're aware, the sales tax structure is complex, because, in addition to the State sales tax of 4.5%, counties and municipalities can add their own sales taxes, resulting in an effective tax rate as high as 11.5%. Check here to find the exact tax rate where you live.

Most stealerships will spank you anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a thousand dollars or more for registering your car, calling it a "conveyance fee" or "documentation fee". I've never paid a dealer to register a car for me. I always say, "No thanks, just give me the bill of sale and the MCO. I'll stand in line at the DMV and register it myself", or "I'm not going to register it. I'm going to wrap it in Cosmoline and put it in a barn". Some dealers will fight tooth and nail against this, as if it's any of their business what you're going to do with the car once you buy it. They'll point to the sales form and say, "See, it's already printed on the form!", as if that is supposed to mean anything. It's their form and it says whatever they want it to say.

Some states actually do not allow you to refuse this service. Check with your department of consumer protection or DMV. Personally, I would never pay a dealer anything other than the sales price of the car plus applicable sales tax.

Bullshiat. Never believe anything the finance guy tells you. Call the finance company personally and ask if they know of any reason you can't walk the paperwork to the DMV and stand in line for your registration. Or get your own financing.
