Having battery issues. Cars sitting all week and battery dead. Charged, drove, next day dead again. Rinse and repeat. This morning getting in Tahoe I see the cluster lights are on, checked light switches, all off. Close door and wait, just cluster lights on and do not go off.

Help please.

22 hrs later battery dead again. Hptuners was unplugged. Tazer for srt pages only, not plugged in, haven't touched in years.

Guage lights on entire time. No other lights.

other odd thing is auto rain sensing wipers have been going crazy last couple months.

Disconnected the light switches and they are still on. Getting power from somewhere else.

Wonder if dealer did anything when they did the evap recall? They were told no update or programing. Seem to have started after.

After some research, the BCM is not putting the cluster to sleep.. Best I could find is other Chrysler vehicles doing this and it was always a broken wire to or at BCM.

All other stuff seems to be timing out and shutting off, tail lights and such.

Can't get tazer to anything, been a problem since I got it. Gives the red green flashing, then the 4 green pause 4 green. Has to be some real draw, not just cluster back lighting to kill battery that quick.

Zauto is kind of aloof when it comes to support????

Wrote a tune in yesterday and the cluster goes out when doing this, not sure why it doesn't time out by itself.

Could I have a failing BCM?

Wheel speed sensor not reading on R front with new part (U140A), Auto sensing wipers going crazy, cluster lights that won't go into sleep mode,(odd thing is the center display goes into sleep mode) some other power draw that's killing the battery in short order.

Trying to remember if some one on this site had a discharge problem and it was the alternator or something else. My alt is newer, maybe 6 months old.

Other codes
U0100

U110B

U1118

Another issue popped up. Manual down shift to 2nd, it up shifts to 3rd, down shift again, same thing. From light, 1st, throttle up, manual to 2nd, then it up shifts to 3rd immediately after on it's own. Electrical problems suck.

Thanks. I did replace it with one from my original front suspension and no change.. Order two new ones anyway... Beginning to think I have a failing module or wiring. Odd all this started after dealer did the evap recall, it smelled like wires or module burnt up inside car when I picked it up. . My gut said not to do it, because I had no codes for it, now all this starts.

Just odd that it smelled of burnt module or wires inside car and all this started. Who knows what else the messed with.. I put a maintenance tune in so they could joy ride or rev eng out, maybe they got pissed, I don't know. Electrical problems are the worst.

Zauto finally got back to me. Had me restore unit from the web site, then do update.. Now the light flashed red in fours instead of green. Haven't hook to car yet.

Pulled BCM down and disconnected one plug at a time and dash stayed on.

Disconnected power lead at under hood fuse box and dash timed out, about 20 sec.

Opened door, dash came back to life. Closed and dash timed out, about 16 sec.

Opened door, dash came to life. acc worked, key on, all came to life went through checks. didn't try to start.

Key off, close door, dash timed out, about 16 sec.

This is with the power lead disconnected, all seemed to work normal.

What does that power lead go to or from, (battery)? Am I disconnecting power to fuse box?

What am I affecting that powers dash time out?

Pulled ever fuse and relay from fuse box with no change.

What does that lead power that bypasses fuses/relays?

More info,
Disconnect power, dash goes out, connect power, dash stays out until I put hand on door handle, dash comes on and it will not go out.

With power disconnect all above works the same, except dash go out.

Left the lead disconnected over night and battery did not drain.

Pulling my hair out.

Yes. So the front fuse box gets power from red cable. With power removed from front fuse box dash works normal.

Don't understand what could be bypassing fuses and relays in front fuse box to cause the problem?

Thinking I just remove all connectors from BCM and see what happens.

Should I be looking at rear fuse box?

TAZER does not connect with car either, was trying to return to stock, only have SRT pages. Zauto suggest I see if it will connect to another car before I send it in to make sure it isn't my car. Need to find someone in near me to do that.

With all the programming I've been doing with HPtuners, maybe it's that. It does turn dash off and blower motor on and other stuff when it writes to ECM for some odd reason.

I once tapped into power in the overhead console for a radar detector and it made the CANBUS wake all the time having my cluster time out and come right back on.
I went elsewhere for power and it stopped.

Have you wired in any mods recently?

#22 ·
Nope. The only recent work done was a recall by dealer, EVAP stuff. Still think something happened there with car smelling like burn wire or electronics when I picked it up.. All was good up-until this point.

Well the car is back to normal. Don't ask me how, don't know what fixed it.

Did two things;

1. Replaced RF wheel speed sensor. That fixed the ABS problem.

2. Pulled fuse box up, removed bottom and saw the spaghetti of wires, moved them around and put back together.

Look in car and dash is asleep, open and close door, dash goes to sleep.

I can rest easy for now.

It is. I was thinking it was like my Tahoe, relays built into board underneath, nope.

Never looked at wires close, just thinking maybe two wires at a relay were bare and touching, hence nothing changing when I pulled all relays/fuses.

Moving wires around may have separated them, just a guess.

Battery still had charge this morning.
