HID Headlight not working

Need some help with an electrical gremlin I am chasing. Couple days ago the passenger headlight on my 13 300 srt8 went out/stopped working. I noticed that it would come back on after a while then start to change color turning more orange and then go out again. While waiting for replacement bulbs to come in the light would intermittently come on then go out eventually staying off. At the same time this was happening I did notice a humming sound from the headlight assembly. When I went to change the bulbs I noticed that the problem sides bulb did have a dark spot like it overhead and blew.
Once I change the bulbs everything seemed fine then within a day the same headlight was going on and off intermittently and again I noticed the humming sound. Next step I decided to disconnect the new bulb and wait for a new ballast assembly to arrive.
Just spent the morning removing the front facia to get the headlight assembly out and replace the ballast. While doing all of this I replaced my condenser that managed to get a hole worn in it from the internal air dam. Once I put the new ballast in and reconnected the headlight everything seemed fine. I finished my other repairs and put the front end back together and of course when I fire it up to back out of the garage the passenger headlight was off again.
I'm at a loss at this point, there is no headlight relay in either the front or rear fuse/relay box. Is there one located somewhere else or does it not have one because of the HID system?
What else am I missing? Wire harness is good so I am stumped.
Thanks in advance.

Who is the manufacturer of the bulbs?

Believe it, or not, check the fuses.

I wasted over $100 on a new ballast, when it turned out to be a boogers fuse. Actually, both headlight fuses **** the bed. They were intact, but the plastic bodies were melted and distorted, causing an intermittent condition to the driver side.

I replaced both bulbs and a ballast, before looking at the fuses. Who knew fuses could go intermittent?

I posted a whole write up, over at HellcatForum.org, under the same screen name.

Haven't had an issue, since I replaced the fuses.

Bob, I had this same issue and found your post, so I wanted say thanks! It looks like the post on the fuse is barely wide enough to reach both contacts in the fusebox. If the fuse gets installed a little bit crooked, the post gets pushed sideway and doesnt make good contact- hence the heat and eventual loss of connection.
The replacement fuses I bought are actually wider, and cant be installed without both posts engaging both contacts.. probably will replace all the fuses I can find because of this..
Thanks!

BM_SRT the Bulbs are Diode Dynamics, the passenger light is currently working but I don't expect it to hold. I also did something I should have from the get go, I pulled codes and low and behold the reader pulled B162E (Right Low Beam Control Circuit: Circuit Short To Battery or Open). I have a short somewhere but I'll have to find the headlight harness schematic to really dig into it.

diboblo, I looked in both fuse boxes and there are no fuses or relays in either location for the headlights so I'm not sure where else to look. I've never seen a fuse panel that did not have relays or fuses labeled for the headlights.

I had similar issues using non-OEM bulbs. Its worth a shot to try either Philips, Sylvania or the like.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll try driver side bulb that I kept when I changed them to the diode dynamics lights. Have a copy of the wiring diagram that I will be using to trace the short if needed.

Just found out this morning that both headlights out, Daylight savings, I have the moving eyeball type. Guess I'll look for fuses now. under hood or trunk, marked headlamps??

No fuses labeled headlamps under hood or trunk. 40 amp fuses in trunk labeled ext lights are good. headlights did come on in manual mode, but then dimmed and went out, could repeat this. one looked more yellow. There is a headlamp ECM/ECU next to fuse box under hood though. Odd problem.

headlights on, driving lights off and not timing out during the daylight, verified when I got home. Is there another sensor besides the little eye on dash?

New bulbs fixed my issue.
