So can the parts from an OEM HID headlight assembly be put on/in a Halogen housing for our second gens?
All I see for sale are the halogen ones everywhere. :(

I have wonder myself. It seems that there may be more pins on the connector for the OEM Bi-level Xeon housings, as well different internals. I noticed when I was replacing the HID bulb on my 2015 300 that there was a small toroidal coil epoxied to the inside of the housing. I don't know if that is common to all the headlight housings, or only in the OEM HID setups.

Ok. Now I’m understanding. Not sure on that. I’ve never looked into doing that. I’m sure anything can be done, but unless I had a damaged HID housing to tear apart I would be wary of trying something like that with good housings. I too have the Active HID’s. No issues as of yet. But I do know that the LED’s i swapped in my wife’s 13 Explorer are much brighter than my HID’s. She has the standard halogen projector housing with the correct bulb for the housing. The beam is perfect and the light output is amazing!

other than that little bit of useless info (to you anyway LOL), that’s all I got! Sorry.
