I was driving my Jeep after my old 300, and recently a Charger, but after some issues with the Charger I went out this week and got a 2014 300 5.7 AWD :)

Looking for suggestions on exhaust that's not wild, just nice.

Also looking for suggestions on a tuner and Tazer (edit: buggy crappy toy with no support, PASS) possibly please?

Thanks, can't wait to get this car :)

I put high flow cats from solo on my awd, nice little gain to power and lets the exhaust breathe a bit better and sounds great. Catbacks have minimal gains and im not the kind of guy to upgrade exhaust just for the sound... others would disagree with me on that. :)
Id say the tazer is a must and i also run a t2 with a jay greene tune.
The pedal commander is fun too. Eco mode helps in the snow and the other settings are great in the less slippery months, good luck with the new ride!:)

Thanks for the info M!
What year is your AWD? I'm a lil worried the Tazer with a 2014 won't be of much use as I know all the features aren't available for these earlier ones.
I don't know hand held tuners and esp whom to go to at all, so more info on that if you could please? I'm still in the learning stage, but will be getting this ready for the spring to make a nice cruiser :)

I do like a nice sounding exhaust, nothing screaming loud, but a bit of a deeper rumble and nicer tone at wot would be good. Not sure what to try on this car, as I don't want drone or obnoxious loud like so many do, lol (yah I must be getting old I guess!) :/

I have a 2013. I was really happy with the features it did have for us. Pefformance pages, esp disable, line lock, speedo tweaking for different tire sizes, awd/rwd lock, daytime running lights modifocation(can turn other lights into your drl's other than stock) and a bunch of other stuff.

As far as the trinity t2 goes, it was my forst handheld tuner, and ive been impressed with its datalogging features/huge catalog of pids to display while driving. 0-60,0-100, 1/8th and 1/4 mile timers. Fairly easy to use, but the inital install takes like a half hour to tune the car and requires a little patience, but subsequent tunes go much faster.

Ive seen hp tuners software that is a competitor, but quite frankly that seems like it was a bit over my head and not quite as user friendly for a novice so i opted to go with a diablosport unit.

As for my exhaust i have jba shorty headers and solo high flow cats. If i didnt live in a quiet neighborhood in minneapolis i would replace the rear suitcase resonators with straightpipes, but with what ive done, im really happy with the sound. Seems like its 20-25% louder than it was before at wot and i love the low rumble i jave now vs the stock setup it had when i got it.

Hope this helps, and dont forget a strut tower brace (noticobly better cornering for cheap) and a catch can to keep oil out of your engine!

Cheers!

Save your strut tower money and spend it on tires. These cars do NOT NEED strut tower bars. They perform absolutely ZERO function on a street car and barely any on a full time road racer. Tested and proven.

Save your money on the pedal commander and spend it on tires. You can mash the gas harder and it doesn't cost a dime. That's all the PC does...gives it more throttle than your foot is. 100% is 100% regardless. There is no performance gain from it.

So far, do you see a pattern? Tires are the best money mod you can do, hands down.

If you want a catch can, get one used off here. They're for sale on a regular basis and way cheaper than the vendors. DON'T believe for a single solitary second that it's a "must have". There are quite literally millions of cars with billions of miles on them and no catch can. It is not a lifesaver, I don't care what anyone says.

Tazer functions are a little limited on 5.7's, but still worth the features. Make sure you follow the instructions to the letter or you'll have issues with CEL's and ABS lights.

Adding high flow cats will not give you a noticeable performance increase. It'll be a little louder, but 1-2HP MAX can't be felt from the driver's seat.

Keep in mind it's too easy for others to spend your money and the search feature can be your best friend on here as well.

Good luck with the mods and have a blast.

Yah, I was gonna pass on the PC, didn't look to interesting/featured to me.

I'd like to lower it slightly too, probably with the Mopar springs. Get a tune and maybe some swaybars (though they are super pricey up here!) I'd like to liven up the exhaust a bit too sooner then later...

The tires on it are almost brand new, so will wait some for that, unless I see a set of wheels I really like. Been searching around a lot on these 2nd gen cars this past little while...

The Tazer place isn't responding to my emails, so not sure if they want my business or not.

I can't seem to find any places that sell any exhaust systems for the AWD, will the RWD ones fit these?

Sounds great, but I think a bit louder than I want mine, I'm getting old, lol...

I talked with my shop today and they are trying to sell me on a custom made xpipe all the way back straight system with some Magnaflows just in the rear spots. I think it will be like yours, a bit louder then I want, but I guess we could always add something on the mid pipe if need be after as you said...

I asked about doing a mid muffler delete and leaving the resonators, but he seems to think I'll get drone and then want to keep adding/changing more. hmmm...

If you delete the mids and leave the resos, you will not have drone.

My Charger in the Instagram vid was custom 3" from the cats back, bullets for mids and no resos. On the highway cruising, it had horrible drone, especially when MDS kicked in.

I tried several combos leading up to that set up.

If you leave the resos on, it won't be nearly that loud either. Think old school 5.0 with Flowmasters because that's exactly what the 5.7 mid muffler delete sounds like lol

I have a 2014 Chrysler 300C AWD 5.7 Hemi John Varvatos Limited Edition and I really love this car. The first thing I did was get the Z-Automotive Tazer (totally worth every penny), an AFE Intake, 180 degree T-stat, and a Diablo Tune. I wanted more bark out of my exhaust so I got the Corsa Xtreme (relatively silent in the car with no drone) it sounds spectacular for lack of a better word. Quiet enough for road trips without head ache and sounds like the gates of hell are opening when you romp on it. I like the Tazer because of the SRT features you can add (the gauges are very handy) and being able to control my AWD system without having to yank out fuses. Other than that only other thing I've done so far is swap out the factory 19"s for the factory 20" OEM RWD wheels for the Varvatos edition and put 255/45/20 tires on all 4 corners ( it looks WAY better now and alot more grip).

As far as exhaust I'm pretty sure any aftermarket cat back will fit the only difference between our exhaust and the RWD is the passenger side mid-pipe is bent different for the transfer case.

I have one more mod I bought but haven't installed yet the BR9 Charger Pursuit big brake kit. I was waiting from my front brakes to wear a little more before installing it. That is also a great mod and pretty inexpensive the Pursuit rotors are 14.5" larger than the 14" Brembos on older SRTs. Also I have Mopar Hidden Trailer hitch I need to install.

There is cheaper ways to get SRT pages etc then the lousy and buggy Tazer (who doesn't support their product either if you have issues I found out.)

I'd love to get my hands on a Corsa exhaust system but they are insanely expensive up here :(

I've seen some RWD wheels on AWD Chargers etc and wasn't to fond of the look on the fronts sticking out. Again like with exhaust, wheels are getting expensive up here too. Our exchange rate isn't very good anymore makes it tougher to do things like this...

I've never had any issues with my Tazer and yeah while there are easier ways to add the SRT pages there isn't another solution on the market currently that allows you full control of the AWD. I like being able to disable the AWD for fun stuff and things that may grenade your transfer case. From the factory you can force the AWD on but not off. The easiest way is to hit the traction control button off and it forces the 4WD on. Then there are the other ways like spin the rear tires for a few seconds or put the car in manual mode. On the earlier pre revised PCMs turning the wipers on would force the AWD on but mine has a updated PCM and the wipers have to be moving rapidly to engage the AWD. There is no way to force the AWD back to off without ripping a fuse out or using the Tazer. Once you mod the Hemi a bit RWD mode is very nice to have.

The RWD wheels are not that bad actually and here in the states the tires for 20" wheels are about 30% cheaper which makes it worth it in my opinion. The rears sit perfect and flush with the fenders more like an SRT stock wheel instead of the 1964 Chevy Impala look of the stock 19"s, the fronts protrude slightly about an 1/8 to 1/4" but no rubbing or fender contact. The only contact I've ever got was with 5 people in the car and a trunk full of luggage over a massive dip at high speed and it still was minor with no damage to the tires or fenders, I suspect if I wasn't using the wider tires that wouldn't even have happened. Also I could roll my fenders I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

First off, congratulations on your ride!

As someone that had a Mopar strut brace on my 09 R/T AWD, I’ll echo what punisher69 says about strut braces on this platform. The only effect it seemed to have, other than depleting funds I could have spent elsewhere, was that it looked cool. That’s it. If the handling improved, I couldn’t tell.

Good tires, though, make a serious difference.

The Mopar CAI also didn’t improve performance. It was louder under hard throttle, but that’s all.

I look at the money I spent on those two items as tuition. Come to think of it, I could probably put slotted rotors on my current ride in that same category.
