    Broken half shaft Symptoms

A few days ago I was making a left-hand turn and decided to leave a little rubber on the road. While the tires were spinning I heard *BANG* (I think that one of the tires may have fallen into a pothole or crack while they were spinning). Everything seems fine as far as I can tell. I can still leave two nice black marks on the road if I nail it.

Curious as to how I might be able to tell if something is broke.
