Supporting CITY of HOPE's Prostate Cancer Program
Ok who's in for another great event and awesome cause?
Lets keep doing what we've been doing and show everyone just how strong the Modern Mopar Community still is, we're 5 plus years running and still a powerful presence not only in SoCal but across the nation, lets run the number of participants up and really show our support for this great cause.
Here are the photo threads from the last three years: 2009:
Phone number to entry by Credit Card: 714-803-9216
11th Annual Cruisin For A Cure Date: Sept. 25th 2010 Location: Orange County Fair & Expo Center - Costa Mesa, CA Time: 5:30AM - 4:30PM
What is Cruisin' For A Cure?
Cruisin' For A Cure is the world's largest one day charity custom/classic auto show with over 3400 vehicles on display, over 200 vendors and exhibitors, and a mile and 1/2 cruise route.
Cruisin' For A Cure is a registered non-profit California organization. All of the individuals that organize the show, handle show day logistics, and generally help make this event a success, are doing this voluntarily in addition to their "day jobs". Unlike many other automotive fundraising events, none of the money goes to a car club, promoter, or "administrative overhead"…. There are none!
Thus, you can be assured that your donation goes directly to prostate cancer research. That is why we have all participants make their entry check out to the CITY OF HOPE. We simply log in the vehicle information for the show and forward the check to the City of Hope
Prostate Cancer will strike over 200,000 men this year alone. Of these men, over 31,000 will die. That's one man every 6½ minutes! Husbands, fathers, sons, and brothers…..in many cases it could have been prevented with regular precautionary checkups.
We men tend to figure, "it won't happen to me" or, " well, I'm busy now, but I'll check into it later." Later could be too late. After all, don't we regularly do tune ups and other precautionary work on our cars in the hope of preventing major repairs later? Your body deserves no less. And the truth is, the testing is painless, not embarrassing, and could save your life. Just ask any of the guys you will see at the show wearing the blue "Survivors" shirts. They will tell it to you straight.
Please take the free PSA test at the show
A simple PSA test, while not the complete answer, will indicate if there is the possibility of a problem. While you are at the Cruise, please visit the large medical motor coach and take advantage of this free test. It is a simple, painless blood test.
This year, over 1000 men were tested at the Cruise. Of these, 140 were discovered to have a an elevated PSA count of over 2.6 and were instructed to see their doctor for further testing. Over the past several years, over 5,000 men have been tested at the show and literally hundreds of lives have been saved.
As wehave in the past we will again meet at the Best Buy parking lot again for our 5th consecitiveyear. Meeting time is between 4:30AM to 5:00AM. I think everyone knows by now why we meet this early so I don't need to elaborate.

Looks like I'll be flying in as both my co-drivers have canceled on me.
So, a couple of questions:
Any LXer staying at either of the recommended hotels? Doubletree OC airport or Ayers Hotel?
Any recommendation one over the other?
Car rental suggestions, as I said, I'll likely be flying into LAX and I want/NEED a LX/LC to rent.
Thanks in advance.
