"Auto" Window Switch

Does the "auto" feature of the electric windows work in both directions, up/close and down/open?

I think you will find it is only in the "down function" This would be for safety, example small kids or animals.

In the base, Touring, and Limited models, only the driver's window has the one-touch-down feature. On the 300C, both front windows have one-touch down and up. I believe that, like the moonroof, they also have an auto-reverse safety feature, so that the window will stop and back off if it closes on something.

Yes, they do have the auto-reverse feature if something is blocking the window FROM going up. Nice feature.

I noticed this feature on my 300C, then when I went to test the safety feature of it(by lightly holding on the window as it was going up), it wouldn't go back down? That was my stupid human trick of the day. I guess something has to be in there when it is near the top. I'm not going to test it anymore with my hand. I play the guitar and need my hands LOL
Ya gotta be quick with it as the windows are short anyway. It takes all of about 3 seconds to go all the way up.

Sorry for my post, but am glad they have added that safety option of reversing on coming in contact with an object. This car amazes me everytime I log on these boards, now I wish I could have mine sooner!!!!!.

auto window switch

hey guys, im new here and I am glad to see a 300C messageboard finally go up online. I have been part of www.300mclub.org for a while and wanted to sign up here too. I have a 2002 300M special and am thinking of switching to a Black 300C. I may wait for an SRT version or some type of "special" version to come out before I buy. Also good to wait a while for the bugs to be worked out. About the window question, it does go both up and down automatically. I have a lexus IS300 as well and it has that feature. I stick my arm in the window to SHOW people the safety feature of backing off when it senses something in the way. It apply little pressure and will back off. I tried this on the new 300C at the dealer and it is the same. The sunroof does it too. See ya guys around!

Thanks, everyone.

My CR-V has this feature, but I have seen other vehicles that only "auto-down" and wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be disappointed.

Does anyone have a part number for this switch? Does the 300C passenger switch have the auto features also? I am thinking of the next retrofit for the magnum
