Thanks to the others who helped track down VIN and VON when I orginally ordered. I see now that it was worth the time asking those questions FROM my dealer.

Enter 44444 for dealer, then vehicle trace by VON or VIN. Nothing shows if no VIN has been assigned yet. Takes a few days after ORDER is placed by dealer.

A few days may be an understatement at this point. My ORDER was placed with my dealer on the 20th of April (before the big rush of Premier Day), and I still don't have a VIN or any scheduled build information. :(

Plsce my ORDER on 4/9/04 . I contacted the sales manager today and he indicated that my vehicle has not received a VIN. I will follow up in two weeks.

My ORDER was supposed to have been placed on the 13th and I just managed to get my VON number yesterday. Still no VIN number and the VON number doesn't work at http://insightnl.extra.daimlerchrysl...aler_LOGIN.jsp .

Until you get a VIN that page won't help you (at least not in my experience). All the vehicles seem to be in in D1 (scheduled to be built) and beyond, which means they have a VIN.

Have you asked your dealer what stage it's in, and what's the hold up?

Another recommendation is to call 1-800-992-1997 (DaimlerChrysler Customer Service) and ask them what stage it's in, they can look it up with the VON.

Yep, used the right dealer # (Harr = 42905) but the VON didn't get me anything.

So I tried Wallabe's 800 number and got a pleasent surprise. Seems my VON has born a VIN!!! He says the ORDER was placed on the 14th (only one day after the dealer said it was and that could be attributed to paperwork flow) and that it's scheduled to be born in 18 days on May 18th. He mentioned twice that it could be build sooner - not sure why he said that - maybe trying to do good customer relations.

So I put the VIN number INTO the Insight site under my dealer's code number and it didn't show. Not too worried because that may not get updated real time.

Now I sure hope I don't have to wait till the June 17th dealer days to take delivery!!

Dennis, remeber after it is bulit they hold the cars for a while (which might be after June 1st) even before they are shipped.

Let's hope they can get it to you sooner.
