Current and Future Production Numbers

Anyone have a clue as to what % of the four models of the 300 and the Magnums are expected to be built/sold?

Yesterday, this is what a dealer tells me. Maybe some BS trying to get me to buy. Basically he says:

"there will only be 100k 300's built for model year 2005. There are 2000 Chrysler dealers, so each dealer will only average 50 cars, so they will be scarce, in short supply and very high demand."

Automobile said that Chrysler predicts a volume of 80,000 in the first year, so they'll be even scarcer! They also predicted a breakdown of 10% 2.7 liter, 51% 3.5 liter, and 39% Hemi. I wonder if they got those last two mixed up?!

10% 2.7 liter, 51% 3.5 liter, and 39% Hemi...

I dunno, sounds about right to me
I'm guessing DCX doesnt want to make the same mistake it made with the Pacifica, so lots of tourings and limiteds will be available. Lots of 2.7's might cheapen the line's appearance, so those will be kept low. Besides, the base 300 is a way for Chrysler to SHOW a low low starting price for what really is a 30K car. The way Hemis are selling in the Ram, I would expect them to be able to sell about 40% of 300's as C's

Long story short, those numbers make sense to me, VIR. As for breakdown of touring vs. limited, i have no clue...

I recall reading an article that suggested that D-C anticipated selling significantly more 300's than Magnum's. I believe the estimate was 25% or 33% Magnums; I forget the exact number. So Magnums should be a bit more unique.

Quote FROM C&D article: "DaimlerChrysler hopes dealers take their minds off Rams and Durangos long enough to absorb about 30 percent of the production FROM the Brampton, Ohio, assembly plant...about 240,000 cars per year"

So guess on about 72,000 Magnums against 168,000 300's. Using the 40% C figure, that should be 67,200 300C Hemis a year and only 28,800 RT's.

Now I really want an RT!!! Quick and unique...

BTW, sorry about all the numbers...I'm really bored right now and like playing with the calculator...sigh...

DEMAND MAY BE MORE BECAUSE THERE WILL BE LESS CARS (HEMI)

In just about every model that comes with a selection of entry level models they always sell more. If there is a V6 availbable the majority will buy instead of the V8. The same is also true with 4 and 6 cylinders. The 4 cylinder outsells the V6 - people just want to get INTO the car at the lowest cost. The 3.5 liter should be the volume leaders but not sure about how Mr.and Mrs. Average will view the 2.7 liter engine. Average consumers are worried about gas mileage and higher insurance premiums when it comes to cars and V8 model do not move as quickly. Only car nuts like us want the big engines! :D

BMW sell more 530i's than 545i
Mercedes sells more E320's than E430/E500

I think that most people will be willing to pony up dough for a V6 SXT or Touring/Limited, especially in such heavy cars. Add in that ESP and other features come with the higher models, and I think it's a no brainer...if you have the $$$, of course.
