I have been extremely unhappy with the backup bulbs in my Magnum and could not find a good replacement.

This thread: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=33938

Lead me to an ERF bulb. It works great!!!! I can actually see out my rear window.

I purchased mine at www.craigcamera.com for 6 bucks each.
Pics??!! I bought some hyperwhites for mine, but don't really care for the look of the actual bulb when viewed in the housing...

I'll take some pics tomorrow, but it was not looks I was trying for, but eing able to see at night, when backing up.

Now I can.

The bulb is smaller than stock, and pure white.

Thanks for the reply, that's what I want too, more better vision! I thought the hypers would do it, but they really aren't that bright, & like I mentioned, I don't like the look. Pics would be great!

Hmmm. They were last week. Try ebay.

The ERF bulbs are not listed on that site. Is there another place to look for these?

I just talked to John at CraigCamera and he confirmed that he is indeed out of stock.

He suggested to look at http://www.bulbman.com for them.

I have tried but have not been able to locate those bulbs on that site.... there are just too many damn lamps there.

Sounds like someone needs to organize a group buy from AtlantaLightBulbs. IF you do, I'll get a piar as spares. Love em.

I bought some ERDs. I would be glad to buy a couple ERFs if someone needs someone to buy a pair to get a good deal. Let me know how much you can get them to 88007 for.
Same here, Group Buy, or to 98409.

i got a pair of ERDs from atlanta bulbs, i needed some other specialty bulbs so i hit the $25 minimum no problem. ERDs are rated 35 watt, but i havent actually tried them out yet...

thanks once again to robins_SXT :thumbs_u:

Has any one tried the ERF's yet ? I am about to put an order in for at least 6 of them ( they are 50w vs the 35w :) ) Other question I have is heat.

Any one with teh 35w ones feel how warm your tail light housing gets if you leave them on for a munite or so.

the ERD's are 35, right? The ERF's are 50.

Oddly I'm not all that impressed with them. Part of that is probably cuz I am a total extremist when it comes to lighting. I've got a long history of insane setups on cars and bikes (my mountain bike has two HID Niterider Blowtorch's out the front, which is... ridiculous). Its brighter if I stare at the bulbs... I can tell its more light... but it doesn't seem like that much. MAYBE it has to do with the fact that I have aftermarket lights and mebbe they have inferior reflector housing focus. Not a clue.

I liked it when I had a fog light mounted on the drivers side rear... and I wired it so I could fire it up while in Drive. And put in a 100w bulb. But that was when I was in college and I had fewer scruples and brains.

I've got the ERF's in and they are definately very bright. They have been in for about 2 weeks now with absolutely no ill effects.
The reverse lights are on for such a short period of time that there is no appreciable heat generated. I don't go anywhere in reverse for long periods of time.
Here's a shot I just took at 5:30am with no flash.

I'm so interested that I will buy 5 for myself next week, unless somebody starts a group buy and I'll get 3 (for sure)

I'd be willing to look into running another group buy, but I don't know for sure yet. I'd have to see what kind of discount I could hook up from a supplier.

PM me the direct link to the page with the ERFs on them of the suppliers you have found so far and I will talk with them when I have time to see if they want to haggle / make a deal.

If I can get one of them to swing a significant discount where I can save the LXers a bunch of money then I'll run the group buy. I ran a pretty good HIR headlight group buy a while back and I really like my HIR bulbs. (see my iTrader rating)
