Does this head/cam package make sense for my requirements?

I am looking for a head/Cam combo that will give me more low end torque (1/4 times in the low 13s would be nice)

I currently have a 2005 Magnum R/T with the following mods:
Predator tuner
Airhammer intake
180 TSTAT
JBA Headers and high flow Cats
Zoomers Exhaust

Requirements for this Head/Cam package:

Must run on 91 octane only (93 not available for me)
Must be able to pass smog (California car)
Must be MDS friendly (hoping to get better fuel millage increase)
Must be towing friendly (I don't see why it would not be)
Don't want loud lifter noise (I vaguely remember hearing something about lifters that are less noisy. I want those)
Note - I plan to get a CMR tune after the install.

Based on my research it looks like FRI's Ecno heads and Sidewinder Cam will fit the bill. Anyone have any other suggestions? Also, I keep reading about the option to get ".030 Milled Deck" what does this specifically do and is it something worth getting?

I'd say you were right on track. I don't have the heads , only a Sidewinder, but it tows excellent, I need to get CMR tuned, but it runs great with a 91 canned tune. I also think the Spartan and the Econo heads would be slightly better. Either way, you'll be happy, even cam only, it's a kick in the arse! As far as lifter noise, well, my stock lifters have 164,000 miles and its slightly louder than the hemi in my Ram which will get a Sidewinder some day soon. Most old school guys freak out to hear it run with my exhaust, sounds a lot like old school 440 or hemi cars. Do it, you'll say, why did I wait so long!

I remember Chris(tored1169) ran 12.9 with his sidewinder/econo head setup! It was very good DA but still, Show's the potential!

It makes perfect sense if you want more power, there are set ups out there that fit the bill for what you want. As for the milling, it makes the compression a little higher, the cost is next to nothing and you can gain more HP from it, it's minor gains but for the money it's worth it.

I'm pretty sure regardless of who you go with they will all make sure your heads are flat by milling them a tad. By milling them you will be increasing the compression ratio a bit. If you go .030 then you are probably in the 10.4:1 range I think. I'm only guessing as I only milled mine .020 and I'm at 10.1:1.

milling them 0.30 brings the compression to about a 10.3:1 ratio.
it really helps pick up on power for the insignificant additional cost, i would never do a set of heads without it unless i was planning on supercharging and didnt want to bring up the CompRatio.

you will meet all of the above criteria with the sidewinder, and it will make towing that trailer 2x as easy with all the instant torque it makes down low. it will really help you finesse that trailer around!

Great, sounds like I have picked a winning combo! I read here that if you get the .30 milled heads you must run 93 octane...has this been confirmed?

91 octane will be fine....the car will be tuned for the compression with the CMR tune.

Come on fellas you all know Mexi has a one of a kind deal and not many other people can claim the same gains with the same mods. It's not fair to mislead someone to thinking they will get the same results. Hell I recently saw a SRT with a super charger running slower than Mexi so every car is different.

i also saw a 09 5.7 R/T challenger with full exhaust, 100 shot of dope and a vortech blower running real high 13's when i was running 12.8's.

big deal.

if mexi is a fluke, what is PACharger? that boy doesnt even have heads and is running a 12.44 with a sidewinder.
