Stupid question

Stupid question:

What is wheel offset I keep hearing about. Apparantly the offset has to be correct for the magnum? Sorry for being stupid, I just don't have any expierience with wheels and tires. Tires and wheel on my rt came with it, dealer installed the custom wheels/tires.
