Toyo 255 45 20 tires

Hey can anyone who has Toyo 255 45 20 brand tires or this size tell me how compatibale they are with the magnum. I read that they are truck tires. Also what 20' wheel pattern would work best with this tire.

They should work fine. I think that most of the tires you will find for the magnums overall diameter fall into the truck and SUV size range.

My Nitto's are that size, and yes, they are "SUV tires", but they work great. I had debated between the Toyos and the Nittos. In the end, I preferred the look and specs of the Nitto. I was looking on Tirerack yesterday and saw that there is a new Ultra High Performance Summer tire out by Firestone (the Firehawk something or other?) in 245/45/20. Its specs were similar to the BFGoodrich G-Force KDW (which comes in the same size) but less expensive, better looking, and lighter. I'd consider that if you want a "car tire" only.

Sorry, I forgot your last question. You're going to want an 8.5" wide wheel to fit a 245-265mm wide tire, for the most part. And that's in 5-115.

Toyos are fine at 255/45....the compound is hard as hell though, which means they should last long, but they aren't the stickiest tires, and wet weather and a heavy foot means lots of ESP blinking at you. But they have a mud and snow rating on them....so they work for now

Diesel has one foot in the grave...not lookin good.
one think i've always noticed with Toyo "performance" tires, is the width is almost always wider than the same size tire from another company... they just seem to be fatter than the stated size...

not sure if this one would fall under the same characteristics though...

3 G is an unknown quantity at this point
Nitto is just a brand name of Toyo. Both lower quality and certainly much lower performance than the gforce. I worked in tire manufacturing for 5 years and we always benchmarked Michelin (makers of the g-force) and Bridgestone. Toyo and Nitto are much less expensive for two reasons: quality and performance.

I agree the wheel you want is a 20 x 8.5 with 5-115 bolt pattern and make sure you have 18mm off-set.

Just a joke, for those Monty Python fans out there. It was just my subtle way to rebut being told my tires suck. Which I'm okay with, by the way.

I have those exact tires. I work for a dealer and my rim/tire "guru" suggested them. They give you plenty of cushion between the rim and the pavement on a 20", and they fit a 8.5" wheel perfectly on the Magnum. I'm very happy with the performance too. I don't think that any other companies make that size other than Toyo.

Thanks for the info guys! My local shop just got 1 set of TIS 03 in 22s so I am going to go with with 22s instead. Can any one tell me a good 22 inch size tire to go with? Also I am putting these Toyo 255 45 20s I got up for sale in the for sale forum if any one is interested.
