No regulator just a current limit resistor probably, this won't stop what I am talking about, trust me.

Not only that, but these inverters should be nowhere near the engine bay and exposed to such temperatures like they are. You said it yourself that they are designed to be used in a computer where they will pretty much never see the kind of temps and conditions that one can find in an engine bay.

Looking for a solution and found this thread. I have had 3 AAC inverters go bad, and the ones that are working at this time are bulging from the inside out just like all the others that have gone bad. They seem to last about 3 months. At least AAC sends new inverters no charge.......
No fires here yet, but I do keep a close eye on them now....
