R1 Concepts VS BrakePerformance???

First of all, sorry if this thread is in the wrong section, mods feel free to move it, I couldnt find a section for brakes...

Ive been on the market for brakes and rotors for quite some time, ive put it off long enough! I will be buying a set when I get home from England in December and just need your opinions. I have narrowed it down to R1 Concepts Premium Dimpled/Slotted Rotors and Semi-Quiet Pads of Hawk HPS Pads OR Brakeperformance.com's deal with Slotted/Dimpled Rotors and the free pads that they offer. They are very similar in pricing however Brakeperformance.com offers lifetime warranty on their parts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if you have any other suggestions i am all ears!

I would advise AGAINST Drilled and Slotteds... Go Slotteds.. The drilled ones squeal like stuck pigs.. Just my $.02... Talked to a CS rep at R1 after I found that the D&S's squealed and he said that Drilled WILL squeal.. Nobody told me that before I bought them..

He didn't say drilled. He said dimpled. Our cars are fine with dimpled, just not drilled.

I have no other input, other than that.

I've heard good things about R1, and when I have to replace mine that's the route I'm going.

i have drilled and slotted from R1 with no squealing ever..

had them with the OEM calipers, no squeal

have them now with WilWoods, no squeal.

only thing I don't like about them, is with the wilwoods, the pad doesn't cover 100% of the rotor surface, so now the untouch area is rusted..

The reason I've understood as to why we shouldn't put drilled on our cars is the weight factor. I think a few people have had them crack... the rotors, that is...

If you use them and don't have problems with them, more power to you, but I'd rather just go with dimpled than have to replace 5,000 mile rotors because they split.

I put 20k on a set of drilled/slotted R1 rotors on my 300 and never had any issues at all.

same here no issues but they do tend to squeal a bit before they get warmed up.

Well I like R1's product, I have Drilled and Slotted, but mine have little hairline cracks in the crossdrilled sections. Not bashing them, I will just go with slotted next time. Had them for about a year and a half now maybe 15K miles. O and they do squeak when cold.

Where's Desquirrel, his favorite subject...lol.

I have slotted/dimpled rotors w/ the posi quiet pads. My OEM's were shot, vibrated/warped?

I've had the R1's on for about 3 months now. No problems with them. The dust is non-existent now. The front left wheel squeaks a little on cold braking...I gotta get in there and take care of that sometime.

R1 doesn't make the lifetime warranty committment like performancebrakes.com does though...so IMO, maybe you should try to get the most bang for your buck and go performancebrake.com.

They both seem reputable and reliable.

I did a paint caliper kit at the same time to make the rotors pop a little more!
