i always loved the look of disgust that i got at a certain gas station when a prius or several prius's came in for their monthly fuel up. i wonder how the pollution of manufacturing and shipping their car corresponds to my car, built 150km from where i am... the battery in a prius crosses the world a couple of times before it makes its way to the car even. hmm.

either way, they like their cars, we like ours. nuff said.

From some of the posts on previous pages it's seems that it's not common knowledge that iRock is part of the LXforums staff and is giving appropriate guidance.

As far as the original thread, I thought it was weird that the Prius guy was calling over 20 mpg (10 gallons for 208 miles) a huge appetite for gas. And I have seen 5.7s at rental agencies. The whole reason I'm in this car is because I got talked into an upgrade at a rental counter - from a sh!tty Buick to a 4-month-old 2005 Chrysler 300C, and it's power and fuel economy blew me away - LOL!

Have any of you guys seen the Smug Alert episode of southpark? Pretty much hits the nail on the head regarding hybrid drivers and the cars.

I hope my new plates come in this week (8AHYBRD). I want to post the pic of it as my avatar along with the evic shot of 50+ mpg down hill and post it. I agree on not having a war with the folks on that site but it sure is funny how they bash the LX's and they drive a golf cart that is so slow they had to replace the spedo with a calendar...

I watched that one. I love The Office. Always good stuff!

As for the Prius owners...
I think they are definitely "different" (shall we say). That said, I have no problem "letting them be". If everything was "cool" the way we see it, it just wouldn't be cool anymore, right?!

yeah...if they accepted that their car is the kid's trike of the auto world then i wouldnt insult them, but the fact of the matter is they are SLOW. I have driven a prius (school research project) and it was crap. sure they get 40 MPG, but thats only when you're going ungodly slow. when you floor it to try and accelerate, you get 15MPG and still accelerate slower than the magnum with 30% throttle...the magnum R/T would also be getting 15-17 MPG at this point too.

another thing...dodge in the past? ok so we dont have fancy smart keys...but at least our system is simple. they have to put their "key" into a little rectangular slot, then push and hold the power button til some lights turn on. we may be more primitive, but who cares, our system is simple and time-tested awesome.

to sum it up...

Prius: puny engine, crappy CVT, wheels that belong on a go-kart, bland and boring, and an interior where everything is crap and weird. All in the name of getting good mileage.

Magnum: Powerful engine, tried and true 5 speed with autostick, FUN, comfortable nice interior that is easy to understand for the less-educated, and we still get good mileage.

Prius is not worth the mileage. oh, and nobody ever gets laid because they drive a prius either.
