Angry Who the heck steals tire valve covers

Soo... I got a TPMS warning and went to check my tires and noticed that all 4 of my valve covers are missing... who the heck steals these things?

Went to a partsource which is close by and picked up a cheap set but they are shallower than the ones I had originally. Anyone know where I can pick up a longer set of aluminium / some kind of metal valve covers? (Ideally in canada and <=$10 prior to shipping)

Also were the OEM valve covers metal (brushed alum?) over black plastic?

I'm guessing for the same reasons that someone would key cars, hit them with eggs, paintballs, etc., etc...

    Yup, usually kids...

I picked up a hex shaped set with an "O" ring seal. I give 'em a bit of a twist after getting them finger tight... haven't lost any in about 5 years

I'll never use any type of locking or hex tool needed set again. They cemented themselves to my vales stems once. The valve stem twisted clear off getting the caps off. Instant flat tire. & being 3 of them I had to take the wheels off & use another car to drive to a shop to get them fixed. Let them take them. I can get 100's online cheap.

I had the same thing happen. that was a ****ty day. those stupid 10 dollar caps cost me 3 tpms and a lot of aggrivation. I have silver plastic ones now. when I was a kid I remember taking the caps off a car in a parking lot and putting them on my bike.

I remember picking up a set of metal ones with little blue mopar logos on them at crappy tire once - don't even know where they got to, but they were about 10 bucks or less.

Must be that salt water Florida air. Here in Dallas I've had metal caps on my car for 5 years, they still look new and come off with twist of the fingers.
