There was an old thread on this but don't know if anyone ever got the trans temp to read.
Other than that this is a fantastic Android phone app for $5 to read air intake temp, coolant temp, throttle position, 0-60 times 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile etc... etc... etc.. etc...
I'm wondering the same thing. I couldn't find anybody that posted anywhere that the tranny temp works.

Really? If that's true than I shall retract my above statement.
I can confirm the Torque Pro app will read transmission temps (method 1) on my 2008 Jeep SRT8. When you go to add a display/gauge if it's displayed in green it's OBDII supported through the app.
Sorry, I can't confirm this on my 2005 300C SRT8 as I have a bike in the way.

Do you have the paid or free version ? I had to play around with mine to get it to read trans temp, but it does work on my '09
Paid version. Might have to go down to the car, because I found what looks to be a hidden "method 3"
Can I phone get this app?

Torque is only for Android.
I believe IOS/iPhone has their own apps that will poll one of the bluetooth OBD2 dongles. I don't remember the name(s) but I know they exist. How they compare to Torque feature wise is also unknown.
Method 3 isn't working either for trans temps.
Also, here's what the displays look like in action.
