VIS Carbon Fiber Hood - Review and Issues

I purchased a VIS Carbon Fiber hood for my 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T off of ebay:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
The price was $620 + $150 in shipping.
I have to say it was packed very well!
Wrapped in plastic, bubble wrap, in a box, more bubble wrap and foam and in another box!!
    The box was HUGE!
It took about 5 minutes just to unwrap it.

Immediately I noticed lots of imperfections in the weave.

You can see all the warps in the weave.

There was a small scratch on the surface near the front.

In some areas, you could see light coming through the weave.

This is the hole cut out for the washer nozzle.

This is the screen mash in the scoop.

This is the latch mount, reinforced with carbon.

I contacted the seller about the imperfections, they agreed to give me a $100 refund or a complete refund if I wanted.
I am going to paint the hood to match the car so it was a good deal for me.

I also purchased the AEROCATCH hood latches for this hood,

    There were $67 on ebay,
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I plan to paint the car a flat, satin black.
I will update this thread as I go along.
    Thanks!

    Further reviews of sellers,
I replaced my rear hatch struts with these:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
    Cost $50.
Totally worth the money, the hatch flys up now, even in cold weather!
    So glad I bought these!!

I also bought these cool projector headlights,

Not a bad deal for $147.99
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I also added these tinted LED tail lights,

Not a bad price at 123.99 for the pair.
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I can't wait to get all of this together!
I am also installing a SRT8 front and rear bumper.
This is going to be awesome!!

I planned on painting it anyway, I had heard that some of the fiberglass hoods can warp and sag from excessive heat, here in North Texas that can be an issue. I was told that the carbon fiber version is much more sturdy so I spent the extra money on it.
The whole car will be repainted with flat, satin black. Can't wait!

Vis racing has never been known to make high quality products. They are known to replicate everything. I remember I had to threaten the manager to take down images that they stole or else I would kick his ass since they always replicated our stuff.

I'm not sure what that means, it is open and air does go into it.
I have an open air K&N Typhoon kit so it would suck up the air,
honestly I think it would just blow some cool air on the engine, but the engine
is covered with all that plastic junk in the first place.

I think functional would be when you close the hood the scoop part fits to your intake so the fresh air goes straight to it and doesn't just dissipate under the hood.

This is a functional hood scoop means this I think...
When the air goes into the scoop... it has a tunnel and then an opening to the air filter location...

Like this one from TruFiber or TruCarbon... same company..

    Thank you Bigal470
