    ** dropped intake valve seat**

I am looking for others that have had a Valve seat drop on thier HEMI engine.

Please note here Model, Year, and Mileage.

Looking to see how many have been affected by this defect.

    Thanks

Only time I have seen the seats just drop out of the head is when they have been improperly modified or overheated. 260-280* is all it takes.I don 't understand what anyone elses experiences with a valve seat will have to do with yours since you no longer have a stock motor. The fact that you changed heads pretty much nulls out anything that might happen on a stock motor.

Just curious, (I'm sure it was obvious) but what was the symptom that told you this had happened?

Seems like the ones I've remembered reading about in posts were almost all stock engines. They did mods after having to replace the parts/heads.

This happened to my stock engine, last month.
The mods listed are my new parts added during repair.
I have owned this car since 20k and never has it overheated.

    Mine happened at startup.
A metal grinding, knocking sound that I hope to not repeat!

this mainly happens on quick stops...when you get gas or run into a store then come to restart the engine...it has only been an issue on 5.7 mds motors with stock heads...I had a few theories on why thi happens...Just look at it like playing russian rullet every time you start your engine on a pit stop...

Quite a few have told me stock seats have .002 to .003 press on the valve seats. Talked to a few that this has happened too, only seen one set in person. In the past year, I have had to replace 2 seats on brand new heads that I just didn't feel comfortable with.
