I want to apologize in advance for asking this yet again, but after searching and reading through all of the threads I've become utterly confused.
The problem is simple -- I need to get a hitch for my 2008 300C. I want to get the OEM hidden hitch. I'm planning to use it with a Thule bike rack.
What got me confused is that I found several different part numbers and prices for what seems to be the same part.
For example: (I can't post urls yet, but I was referring ot chryslerpartsstore site)
This lists 2 different parts:
$176.30 Hitch Receiver, 2006 & 2007 Chrysler 300 82209575
$195.05 Hitch Receiver, 2008 & 2009 Chrysler 300 82209575AB
Why the difference in prices and part numbers? Can I get the cheaper version and end up with the same thing?
A similar thing with the L shaped adapter: (I can't post urls yet, but I was referring ot chryslerpartsstore site)
Hitch Ball Mount - 2006 Chrysler 300 82208643
Hitch Receivers, Ball Mount Kits Permits the use of hitch-mount 82208643
Tow Hitch - Ball Mount Kit - 2005 Chrysler 300 82208643
Which one of the 3 listed parts do I need? I don't need a ball mount or anything, just a regular 2" opening to stick a bike rack into.
I would appreciate all the help.
hitch reciever - 82209575AB $340.00 cad.
2" elbow adapter - 82208643 $40.00 cad.
hitch mounted bike carrier kit.
2 bike - 82204453AB $300.00 cad.
4 bike - 82204328AB $336.00 cad.
all prices are MSRP in canadian dollars. i'm sure one of our fine vendors can do better.
i wish they never would have taken away the vehicle profile from post headers.

do you need 4 pin wiring or 7 pin wiring with a 7-4 adapter?
i went with the 7 pin wiring and the adapter just in case i need to tow something with 7 pin.

Funky, You're the man!! Thanks! Now I gotta start getting stuff ordered. hah
I bought my parts from wyckoffchryslerparts.com, although I'm not sure if they'll keep up their parts business as I thought they were on the chopping block from Chrysler? Regardless, the AB version of the part number is the newer version that mounts the wiring bracket at an angled (someone here thought "Angled Bracket") so that when you plug in a 7 pin, you're less likely to damage it with the trailer (the old version mounts the bracket so the plug runs straight backwards).
I went with 82209575AB for the hitch assembly,
the 90* receiver (with 2" opening) 82208643,
then bought a 6" drop ball mount and ball from a local brick/mortar store (flipped the 6" drop for a 4" rise, what I needed for my trailer to sit close to level unloaded).
Also, if you're going to go with a 7 pin, stick to the OEM version. If you're going to go with a 4-pin, you can find knockoff versions cheaper online that are also plug-n-play just like OEM that also have isolaters (or whatever they're called to protect your electrical system).
