Best/out of the box supercharger kit.

So I have been eyeballing some supercharger kits and have a few questions. First Is there much difference in the initial out of the box setup, things like ease of instalation as I will probably do it myself. Second is there a good better best here? I see the prices vary considerably. Also things I would consider are what extras I will have to get. Keep in mind this is a stock bottom end. Mild build on a non forged motor... For now.:ninja:

Funny you mention this. I was having the same conversation with my brother in law yesterday. I told him if he was going to keep the stock bottom end, DD the car, and run safe boost to get a procharger p1sc. 6-7psi on a dyno tune and he should be in the high 400rwhp or just at 500rwhp. Anything higher than that he would need to be looking into a built trans, and 09 RT half shafts or a getrag.

EDIT: just noticed you're in the jeep section. First question I have for you is are you running a 5.7, 6.1, or 6.4 and what year? If you have a 6.1 then the procharger is still what I would recommend. If 6.4, I'd recommend forging the bottom end first then putting a blower. I had a 2012 and just traded it for a new SRT jeep. I've been toying with the idea of boosting it, but keep having to restrain myself because it's my DD and I can't risk popping a ring land. The most I ever did on my 2012 was a 50 shot of nitrous. Mild enough were tune and plugs didn't need to be changed, but still effective.

What is a tvs? At the end of the day Im not sure if buying a blower and not having a forged motor is worth it. Always wanted one. Finally have the money to get one, but worried that it will kick me down the rabbit hole of money...

I heard 6 was the limit on stock bottom end. I guess that is not the case? Which is the twin screw I hear that they have a colder charge or less heat build up as a result of the design/?>

Water/meth is your friend with stock bottom end. I ran 12 psi on a Tacoma with stock internals, but water meth, for 140,000 miles before trading it for my Ram. Toyota had no tuning available, except a different ppm, but that was for 6 psi. Water meth kept that motor alive. BTW, even with the blower on the Tacoma, my Ram is faster, haha.

I think if I go ahead with this it will be just 6lbs until I can afford to by a forged short block. But it really begs the question, what can you buy for 20000 instead?

OR put in a Hell Cat short block in and get everything forged good for 707 HP, and cheaper than drop in pistons and rods. then sc it! check out my build at A2Speed 5.7 to a Hell Cat block.

My initial thought to this thread was to just buy a hellcat, or lease one. I had no idea a forged short block 6.2 would be that reasonable. My 2 cents, I like spares. So swapping out a block could get your ride back into service if the build goes bust. I always like being able to minimize the heartbreal when toys break. :friday:
