About LinkBacksWe are gonna be heading down to Tampa Florida June 16th to July 2nd. We are taking the Daytona. Looking for anything going on this time frame. We will have our 2 kids with us. We are leaving Chicago on the 16th and driving 2-3 days to Tampa. We are not locked in to staying in Tampa the whole time. Help us out fellow LXers. We are also open to staying in Tampa for 1 week and taking the Long way back to Chicago.

Yeah, and if that won't work, perhaps the weekend before we can meet up and grab a brew.

Alrighty then....it's getting time to start planning. What's the lowdown on the Clearwater meet? Mapquest tells us Clearwater is only about 25 miles from Tampa. Any truth to this? Can you or anyone else give us some ideas on nice places to stay in the area? Near the water would be sweet. Any help would be great. Thanks!!

heres the existing location
Location: 2757 Gulf to Bay Blvd. Clearwater, FL. In front of the Target store parking lot in the Clearwater Mall (located @ Gulf to Bay and US 19 in Clearwater, FL). There will be a clearly marked off area and we'll start at approx. 11:00 am. We will likely follow that up by moving over to the very first ever Hooters across the street for some wings, beverages, and good fun!

I am local and know the area very well. What you lookin' to do? You wanna stay on Clearwater beach with a whole lotta other people and bake in the sun? Or you looking for activities outside? Let me know what you are lookin' for, I'll point ya' in the right direction. Originally Posted by GO2496GO
Clearwater is actually less than 25 miles but figure on an 45 minute ride +/- 15-30 minutes, depending on traffic.
I'm still waiting for some responses to changing the Clearwater M&G Location, currently it's being held on Rt. 60, just in Clearwater, VERY EASY from Tampa.
Things you can do with kids in Tampa area? Busch Gardens, The Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo, Obviously the Beach, There's a Waterpark, and of Course ORLANDO and Disney stuff.
