    Event Idea

I just want to throw out an idea I'm working on for Feb. of 2007. It would be a 2 day event (Sat. & Sun). Saturday would be a dyno day with a picnic lunch from Sonney's BBQ. Cost would be around $40 for 3 pulls with fuel/air print out. Also for those who need tuning time that would be available by the hour at the end. Saturday evening would be a show and shine at Quaker Steak and Lube, a local auto themed bar and grill. They would give us a dedicated parking area and a deal on food and beverages (adult type too).

Sunday we would have a private track day at Bradenton Motorsports Park. It would be fully staffed with safety personel on sight. We would be the only ones there and have the 1/4 mile all to ourselves (fully prepped track). I've done this in the past with the neon group (yes I stepped up from a 13 sec neon) and you will have as many runs as you could ever want. We could do some heads up eliminations and run some brackets for fun. Give out an award for best reaction time, etc. The way this works is $5 a head to get in and $40 to run. Before you freak at the $40 part just remember most tracks charge $20 for a test and tune night for a handfull of runs. We would need to secure $2000 for the track and the rest is ours to do with what we want. So that's only 50 people to run.

This event would take place in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.

I would think this could draw our northern snowed in people that are still months away from the tracks opening. The track is very fast and used by alot of NHRA teams for winter testing. Schumacher racing rents it by the week.

    Give me your thoughts.

Sounds cool to me too. Maybe I'll have to change the exhaust between now and then.
