Good for you guys. I'm sorry I missed it. The father in law took a fall and I had to make sure he was OK.

Wish I could have been there as planned.

For those of you that did NOT go... You all really missed a TON of fun! While we were doin' the last minute touch-ups (makin'em purdy!), the ROAR of dragsters shattered the silence! I could DEFINITELY see this show taking off to another level! Not only can you 'show' your car, but you could get lined-up next to a Viper and smoke by him as he dumps parts all over the lane next to you! Laughing all the way!! Yeeeehhaaaaaw! (I know Viper is another Dodge buuutt...oh well.) If Moroso does a butt-load of ads, and gets on the drag-strip schedule for the Big-boys (aka Pro's) this show really could explode! But, I'm just a visionary guy I guess!

I don't want to thread-jack but I was there... and I had an EXCELENT time... and I was happy to participate....

But none of it would have been possible without the efforts of LXFORUM member CBUTLER32 who will be getting beans from me every chance I can give them...

As many of you know, I work on a privately owned yacht and had been docked in Ft. lauderdale for a month or so and I was soooo looking forward to this show... then last minute I had to cancel cause the owner wanted to use his yacht (how dare he!) ... so we had to leave the week prior to the show and I had to leave my Maggie with a friend in Ft. Lauderdale...

As fate would have it, my yacht RAN AGROUND in Bimini and had some slight prop damage - enough to cancel the trip and dock in Miami for repairs!!! Woo Hoo! At this point I'm thinking... there might be a chance for me to make the Jupiter show... but I had one more hurdle to clear... my friend with my Maggie was out of town (in the Bahamas) on business and I needed to get to my Maggie in Ft.lauderdale - I thought about catching a taxi... which woulda cost about $100 ... but I could think of better ways to spend my mod money ... so I posted a request in the Southeastern group for any LXers in the Miami area that may be headed to the show that could take me to my Maggie and we can continue on to the show.... I really wasn't expecting much of a reply, cause I posted this request on SATURDAY, the day before the meet.

I went out on the town (Miami South Beach Saturday night) and when I went out, I had yet to receive any response to my request so i was trying to decide if I really wanted to pay a taxi and make the show, and i had decided that I wasn't going to miss this M&G.

When I wake up the next AM, I have a PM from cbutler32 stating that he in intown on business and is going to the show and wouldn't mind giving me a lift! I was really excited and I called him right away to make sure he was still planning to go... this was about 7:00 AM local time - (which to cbutler32 - aka Chris Butler - was 4:00 AM cause he had flown in the previous evening from the left coast) and he didn't curse me out for disturbing his slumber.... he graciously started his day when I called, we organized directions for him to pick me up, and we were on the road by 8:30 AM!

He picks me up in his silver SXT Magnum and we make good time driving to my Maggie in Ft. Lauderdale. Here is a shot of us picking up my inferno red maggie...

Frome here... at this point I decided to have a bit of fun with the rest of our trip to the show and I took full advantage of the fact that Chris didn't have his normal SRT-8 ride and I had a 2 cylinder advantage on him for the commute up to the show! :-) (*** objects in mirror appear to be losing!)

At the end of our journey there was a faint rainbow at our exit... how appropriate!

Chris, in what psychologists can only describe as a case of Modificationous Deprivationous, proceeded to decorate his rental SXT with all the stickers from 30 LX'ers goodie bags and a roll of left over hazard tape I had picked up doing hurricane relief work. Doctors believe Chris will return to normal after 5-10 miles of SRT-8 driving in California and a few dozen WELL DESERVED BEANS!!!!!

A very ill man... Please help - he needs beans!

Seriously - this trip was ALOT of fun - I have lots more photos to post... but my participation in this event was made much easier by cbutler32..

I can only say Thanks - and that Chris Butler, aka cbutler32, you are the man!
