I'm ready to go now. Is it too early?
do we pay our entry fee at the door? Im a;lready on the ;list
Are we doing a drive-by this year?
Fate is at the wheel.........enjoy the ride!
now this is funny!!!! lol
yep.....looks like you will be bringing the truck then......
yes, fees ae due at the door the day of the event.
no drive bys are scheduled at this point. quite frankly, after the debacle of last years in regards to the traffic jam that resulted trying to leave, if anything is done this year it will be done with a meeting spot well away from the exit of the building. had some irrate folks last year who could not leave and go home because of the back up caused by the cruise exit.
Understood.
I too have been involved with the memorial drive-bys. They have been wonderful but problematic. I have passed on an idea for this year's Shindig to Legmaker and I believe the past cruises left a bad taste in some folks mouth. I have access to a NASCAR "ghost track". Instead of the problems that occur upon exit, we can meet two miles away from the track and then cruise in. Inside, the track is in great shape. Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, and other NASCAR legands have raced here. Several movies have been filmed here and just recently Dodge filmed the new Durango commercials here. Justin Bell filmed an episode of Worlds Fastest Car Show here and run the new SRT hard. The track has a lot of history. It was closed down shortly after a moonshine still was found under turn three.
Now the fine print. The track is 15 miles north of Perry in Byron Ga. A good meet location is located about two miles from the track. The owner allows "parade laps" and other fun safe activities. He only asks that we provide a $5 track preservation fee per car. Please go to www.midgamoparclub.org and click on the video of the month. This is a little video of our day out there. We could use this as a photo opportunity/cruise/end party.
In order to prevent the chaos and danger that happened with the memorial cruise, we woud meet approx two miles from the track and then have an escort from there. It is easier to travel two miles with an escort rather then ten or fifteen.
Please give me an idea of how many would be interested in this activity. If we have enough intrest, I will make it happen.
SO DOWN for that!!! ^^^
