I must concur! Back in April, I had moved to RI for a job while my wife & kids were still in Florida. I met up with my family in Long Island (where we are originally from) for a wedding. There was a Meet & Greet that Sunday that I wanted to go to but it wasn't going to start for about 4 hours after I dropped off my family at the Islip airport. I went online with my palm treo & found jonzmgnm online as well. I had spoken to him a few times on the web but never met him in person at that point. John invited me to his house where he made me a delicious pot off coffee & then I followed him & his son down to CapTree where we were able to kill a couple of hours prior to the Distinct Meet & Greet.

I've grown up in LI so I can say this; it is not a common occurence on LI for someone to invite a stranger into their house.

The world would be a better place if it was full of people with the same "character" as John. Although I know the world isn't full of these people I have met several LXers that do display these same charachter traits.

Thumbs up do you John as you are a role model in my book!

I Posted this Back in April:

    Distinct Motor Sports Meet

Thanx to Jonzmgnm I was able to make the meet. I had about 4 hours to kill after I dropped off my wife & kids at the Islip airport & was seriously considering baggin since I could make it back to RI in just over 3 hours.

I found jonzmgnm online and he graciously invited me to join him & his son (another John making it three of us names John) to Cap tree. It was a good time & a great way to kill a few hours. This would be a great place to line up the LILX Club cars & throw a banner up.

At Distinct I had the pleasure of meeting Chasb, MJR5150, Meech, DistinctSRT, NYCSRT8, HeHateMe, NautcaSrt, Bert (sorry I can't remember your screen name) & a few others that I remember by car only. Give me a break, I've been hangin out with LXers all over the East Coast recently. Which brings up a great point, no matter where I've met members, they are all great people with great additudes. People wise, you wouldn't know the difference if you were at a meet & greet with New Yorkers, Jersey Dudes, Floridians, Delewareians, Rhody's, Virginians, Baaaahhhhstonians, etc. The only thing you'll pick up on is everyone outside the NY metro area speaks funny

The only addition that would of made this M&G complete is if I was able to Meet Big Bob. So now I know I'll have to hit some more LI Meet & Greets!

JV Yes You will have to come down for a few more M&G's. I'd like to get up to your way as well at some point. I'll be in the West Palm/Jupiter Stuart FLA area this winter so if you're ever down there let me know and we can hook up with the FLX club guys too.

Adding my name to a long list of agreements. John's a stand up guy and it was a shame we had to close out the season without him!

No if we can get him to show up at another Hooter's M&G in the off season.. (hint)

DJ, I'm glad you got to use the drag radials and the tech card. Nice times you reported back with, BTW! You're on your way to becoming one of the fast ones for sure.

To all those that chimed in here, I'm sorry about missing this event, but some long overdue 'quality time' with the family was in order.

Thanks for the kind words fellas, and believe me when I say you are all my second family! Looking forward to hangin' again...........

Dave, the winter is setting in so I'm game for another Hooters M&G!
