Street Wars 3 Results and .....

It was a very eventful and a very loooooong cold day.
After 13hrs of racing there was no clear winner in any class.

Thanks to all of the import oil spills (too many to count) we got ONE run in before they started eliminations.

At 7:30pm everything came to a stop cause of curfew and the people left got to split the money.
I won enough to cover entrance fee, food and little left over


I'm sure others will put in their .02 cents in.

I felt I could have won this .My last run was .03 over my dial in of 13.35.

Oh well ......

Ye, it absolutely sucked.
After the 2nd or 3rd or well I lost count, of how many oil spills, I couldnt take it anymore. I left at 2pm and only had 1 tine trial since 10am.

Yes it was a very very long day. Too many spills to count. Maybe they shouldn't turn there boost all the way up and than hit there rev limiters on there cars. My last run was terrible, well the initial start. Drove past the second yellow line up light, than went in reverse and before I could go back into drive the light was green. R/T was whooping 2.3 but did manage to get a 13.59, only lost by .03X to a Supra, in that run which was my best. If I had time to set up correctly I think I could have a 13.5 or better. It was very frustrating being there and i kept falling asleep but I did meet a couple of ppl. Hope to have a better time next Saturday.

This was one of the absolute worst events EVER. I don't hold it against ETown, but as Chris said, Oil Spills, made it horrible. It was the Pro Import Outlaw guys spilling the oil mostly! Then about every 5 runs for the Street Wars, a Rice ****box would spill.

After our FIRST and ONLY Time Trial about 11:30 AM!
we made our FIRST ROUND ELIMINATION at 5:30 PM!!!

6 HOURS definitely takes the cake away from Maple Grove's wait of 3 hours.

On the 2nd round, I didnt want to wait anymore, but was going to give it a good shot but red-lighted .018 and this was about 7PM!

Damn had I known this would have ended at 7:30, I would have put more effort into that launch and stayed!

That right lane felt ICY/Oily on my last launch and I spun for at least 10 feet fishtailing for an absolute worst 60' of 2.114 woohoooo!!!!!

Dan didnt want to wait either, I helped him get packed to head back home after his first first round WIN.

This is the last NON-LX or Mopar event I attend.

I'll say one thing though, I got my personal best runs matched and that was with BRAKING over the finish line!! I could have done 13.4's easily last night, but because of going straight into the eliminations with time trials, I couldnt shoot for it.

So ended up with 13.617 (time shot), 13.639 (Braking at 1k) and sliding all the wayyyy 13.890 (no brake).

And a personal thanks to Bannanapeel, Powerwagon, torRed 1169, slideway and GotmeRT for backing me up in the trouble I caused. (Almost a group fight with ricers). So ok here's my public apology for starting that one.

Short story for documentation:

Ding Round 1
1) ricers revving forever in front of us while we were talking.
2) yelled at them to knock it off, Got the middle finger and revved more, I threw half a cup of coffee on their car.
3) In the face yelling, chest bumping, kid spits in Banapeel's face.

DING Round 2
1) ricer group returns with dad and 6 friends to try and punch through window/possible sucker punching
2) in the face yelling with old man and kids
3) spit on my car

Final outcome: banapeel orchestrates truce all is forgotten.

20 minutes later, ANOTHER huge group near us Domestic Vs. Import (I found out) gets into big yelling argument over SAME THING: excessive revving!

It summarizes how crappy this event went. No racing, two opposing groups intermixed in the ice cold, waiting for the event to just END, tempers from frustration and boredom and wasting your $30 to have your ear drums blown from too much WEEE WEEE WEEE POP POP POP POP POP BOOM!

Overall I agree with torRed, It was a long and cold 13hrs. Overall it was a frustrating day, but I ended up in the last round to be run and left with a little trophy and 60bucks. Not bad at all in my book! I also broke 13.9 and 100mph for the first time. One of the better points of the day was watching that rx7 pull an 8.0 he was moving. Thanx to all the guys there, even with all of the crappiness, I always have fun standing around Shootn the S***. I apologize for not saying goodbye to everyone as they left, but I was so f'n cold and I had no gas so my only help was the seat heater! I think I'm getting a better handle on this bracket racing thing. Its a lot of fun. Hopefully I'll see everyone on Sat.

nice runs guys....ashame the track conditions sucked. Cecil was PERFECT today. Only one tranny went and it was after the 1000' line...about 10-15 minutes of down track time ALL day!!!

Yep, worst event I have been to at any track. The constant revving, the oil spills (and the rice driving ALL the way down the track with fluid spilling out), the cold and the delays - only got 1 time trial and 1 elimination run (Street Outlaw). At least we beat yet another POS Evo (the Evo in front of us was the one that caused the longest delay.

I believe ATCO fines you if you continue to drive down the track. Etown needs to have you sign a waiver stating:

1) you will be fined at least $500.00 if you continue to drive down track

2) you will be escorted off track immediately.

Last time I will ever attend any event that has a hint of 'import' in it.

WOW, you started your first elimination at 5:30, thats crazy. I left at 2 so I would of been there for another 3 and a half hours of revving and BS ricers.

Overall it was not bad for an import day.... I guess. In any event, I ended up looking at my timeslips again this morning and was pleased with the consistancy.

All my 60's sucked (track seemed a bit cold, especially after delays) but the Maggie came on strong. With my limited mods and no predator (yet) I was pleased. I did some searching and there are a couple of random posts that just mentioned that we did well (dodge, jeep, chrysler) on various sites (ls1.com, Gtols2) I combed the import boards but again, they aould never concede that we kicked their behinds. In any event, let the modding for next season begin!

Sorry to hear the ricers ruined the event guys, but thats the generation of kids, nobody else matters as long as they get to do what they want. There is just toomuch proof on you tube but this is my fav. Just dumb as can be. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Btb61EdIFY
