Redlighted as in they timed him out? Josh needs to tell the track that courtesy staging is in effect, if he doesnt then the track probably reverts to the timeout rule. Kinda ****ty but I gotta assume the people that are double bulbing are just not aware of how it all works.

Yes, They timed him out Dan. No doubt they are not aware and Josh was not able to make it today. So thats why I brought it up and hopefully everyone can be aware in the future.

Was another fun day at the track yesterday. Made it past one round in the Hemi Bracket, then broke out by 4 one hundreths (did i spell that right LOL!) to bill in the second round. See everyone in Maryland, can't wait!

Over all it was a good day. I got a new pb with the car, first time out with the new setup (12.75@109.58), I made it through the 1st round of modern vs classic( only to break out in the 2nd round), and I made it to the semi's in the Hemi bracket and that's where I got double bulbed- didn't expect that to happen. I did the burnout like normal, rolled up, pre staged and then when I went to stage it went red. Oh well, just part of racing.

I was sorry to hear that in the pits John, Dan did a thread to bring newer racers up to speed and remind others on the staging thing. Congrats on the new best!

From what I remember the 10s timer isn't supposed to start until both drivers have lit the pre-stage bulb. I still think something Wacky happened at the tree John. It would seem the timer was started on the double bulb just like you guys are saying. I really still don't see you waiting 10s from when you pre-staged. No way.

Remember how Autostart was off on you're timeslip?

For autostart to start, both drivers have to be pre-staged and one has to stage fully. Once that happens the other driver has 10s to fully stage himself. After that 10s the driver is disqualified if he/she does not stage.

You were disqualified most likely even before you pre-staged, because autostart never came on.
The only way that can happen is a flub in the tower making the run a single instead of a dual run, where the tree waits for a single driver to fully stage and then drops the lights on one side. The other way I can think that might happen is if the starter at the line released the buttons to start the tree at the wrong time without autostart being activated.

Now I know I already talked to you about what to do in this situation. But I'm going to repeat it for the rest of the people in the group. If you feel that you were disqualified at the light unfairly you have to sit at the starting line and not take the light. As soon as you see that red bulb come on, don't take the tree, just sit there. The starter will come over and you can protest the run. If the starter and the tower agree that you have a valid claim, they'll re-run the race.

Needless to say some Fresh blood got into the final and it's good to see all the new faces that came out this weekend. I don't doubt that our next date will be even better since it won't be right before mothers day!

I'm not defending the track at all. In no way shape or form do I represent or work for E-town. I believe John did nothing wrong to foul out. The issue has to be brought to the tracks attention immediately after it occurs when they can actually do something about it. It's the same at ATCO and it's the same at Island Dragway and most all the other numerous tracks the LX Forums members have raced at.

Had the damn .009 redlight against Bill in the first round of Hemi... I have not won a round yet this year!

Then broke out in the second round of classic vs. Modern... killed him on the tree, broke out by .08.

Someday I will get this right.
