Rhode Island GTG

Ok fellas. We have a strong interest among us, lots of folks wanting to do this.

We've had a suggestion of a metup in RI in the vicinity of where route 1 meets route 138 at an ice cream shop called..Henny’s (?), followed by a cruise afterwards.

Few questions:
-Families or just drivers?
-Tailgate-style event (BBQ)? (If yes, then still at ice-cream shop, or alternate location?)
-Presumably daytime event?

Questions, comments or good jokes?

Oh, and anyone willing to drive to it is welcome, right?

I'm gonna be in that area today and do a quick recon of the park and ride and surrounding area and will report back later...

Like I said in the other thread, the beach traffic could be a real game killer if we don't plan properly. Sunday afternoon would probably be best, next weekend might not be too bad considering the 4th is Tuesday (I thought it was Monday...).

The park and ride is right next to the ice cream place so there's lots of parking, not that we would need a bunch. A slow cruise to Narragansett and points of interest in the surrounding area would be sweet.

Let me know what youse guys (and girls) think!

Well, we have some fellas from MA that wish to join us. Probably a few from CT. Maybe a dozen or so, so far. Whomever is interested, pop a quick post for definite, and for planning purposes, please.

Well I don't think it will be this weekend will it? Unless we want to wear waders!! However, parking in Narragansett will be plentiful.. One other note. I believe the ice cream place is called Heffie's, not Henry's. Correct me if I am wrong.

Pablo's right...sort of. In typical RI fashion it looks like it changed hands and is now a tavern of some sort. Still a good place to meet, but the Dunkin Donuts which is about 3 miles directly south of there on Route 1 might be a better bet; complete with Coolatas and bow ties!

I'm not opposed to next weekend, since the 4th is on Tuesday, but if that's gonna take a lot of people outta the picture we can move it up another week to the following Sunday maybe?

The more the merrier, and everyone, not just us RI types are invited, MA, CT, it's all good...

Next Saturday would not be good for me. I already have other plans. The following weekend (July 8) would be better. Or, come to think of it, Sunday would be ok.

The later July 8-9 weekend the better. I am on VACATION!!! for the week and will be 185 miles north. Might come home if I need to for this!!

BUT the 7-9th is Carlisle. Maybe some people won;t be around"?

I think that this coming weekend sucks, 'cause with the 4th on Tuesday a lot of people are gonna take a 4 day weekend and otherwise be unavailable...

I could make it, but I think a big concern is max participation, so the following Sunday (the 9th) would be better...

Whaddaya think...

Like Ronin said. I could change my plans, but I am planning on being in NH through the 9th. I would rather come home on the 8th and join you than go up on the 3rd and lose the whole weekend. But don't ket me dictate what is done!! LOL We just need to decide by Friday, because if not I am hitting the road, with no internet access!!!
