Just an idea - Impala SS vs. LX's in 2008?

Hey,
Over the 2007 season at E-Town, I noticed there were a couple of times I saw mid nineties Impala SS's running in their own lanes. I dug a bit and found they have a bracket series running similar to what we have going. Below are some results I pulled from their site and take a look how the times are very similar to what most of us are running. I think this would be a good idea for a meet/friendly challenge. Something like a HEAVY METAL meet of sorts. I can shoot a couple of emails out to them if you guys are interested. I haven't contacted E-Town or anything so I don't know if this would even be possible for 2008 but it still sounds worth looking into.

This was their bracket class standings, I don't know if they have a heads up class but I have to imagine with all of the parts available for those cars and drivetrain, there have to be cars in the 10's and better out there.

Ya, the modern muscle car event we participated in this year was fun. Id love to run against some other cars.

I sent an email yesterday and heard back! The member thinks it sounds like a great idea as well and will follow up with me in a couple of days. Hopefully their members like the idea too!

Big Bob and I went to one of their meet 'n greets 2 years ago out at a hooters somewhere in LI.

They were a nice bunch of guys.

Scott (formerly CoolVanilla1?) who was one of our first three amigos, used to own one before he got his 300C. He has since moved into corvettes. I believe Big Bob saw him at E-Town last time we were there.

They do have guys running in the 10's and 11's so it ain't gonna be a cakewalk for some of us.

But it will be like old times. Mopars vs Chevy

We're talking 94-96 5.7s, not the new ones, right? I had a 96... I loved that car. I would have bought the next generation Impala as well if they had stayed true with a RWD V8 platform. I love me a Chevy!

Yup, those are the ones. I'm not a fan of the new FWD V-8 platform myself. It's almost like they were trying to make the most unbalanced car possible.
